If you are receiving truly threatening PMs, you may want to consider reporting the PMs to Jackson for action. At the lower left hand side of the screen in a PM is a link that says "Report this post to a moderator". It appears to act in the same way that reporting a public board post does, opening a form that sends a message to Jackson letting him know about the abusive PM.
Based on what I've seen in the Memphis forums, Jackson is pretty quick to look into reports of abuse of both the open forums and the private messaging function, up to and including banning members who've made threats of physical harm to other members. It's a thought. Jackson can't control content he's not aware of, and while I'm sure he can look at PMs whenever he wants to, this board is too big for him to read ever single post and PM that is posted.

I don't know why this post would even be up for debate. First, I'm sure all the active members who have been around much time have had "special" new finds that are held pretty close to the vest for at least awhile.
