Hey Jackson,

I just pondered a thought....Ever thought about selling T-shirts with the inscription WSG on it? White shirt with black lettering(WSG) or Black shirt with white lettering(WSG) You'd make a lotta dough with it!

And it will have your own seal of approval on it....Something that Only the members on the board would know.

P.S. It may sound Dumb but it just a thought:)

Hi Jackson,

I want to post pics of the women I met in Brazil on your site but I haven't figured out how. I tried to put them in the gallery but it wouldn't take. How can I post my pics?

Darkseid,

I have a suggestion. Make a Yahoo Photos page of the Brasileras you met. You could then include a link to your custom photo page within your travel report. Just make sure you set the photo page as "public" or no one else will be able to see the pics.

Yes, Zimbabwe is very cheap and the women all have huge tits. So please go there and NEVER return. Jackson should ban you.

Hello Jackson

How are you? I suggested some time ago you should start a new section, something like Jackson's Pick of the Week/Month, what you consider the best post of the week/month. There have been some funny posts in the Shanghai and China Ad section but the above quoted one from Dickhead has had me laughing for over an hour. It is really funny. Pity I am heading off to Thailand soon as I otherwise would have gone to Harare and get me some of those big, generous udders.

I am currently packing my supplies of rubber gloves etc for Thailand and I am in email contact with Shifen, who seems a very nice woman.

I hope you are getting plenty of indoor exercise.

I really liked what you have done with the user moderations in creating "Regular Members" and "senior members".

I do have one suggestion. How about creating another moderation called "Forum Clown".

I know the perfect choice there!

Jackson thank you for putting up this great site. is it possible to split up all postings in information and storrys, so it would not take up so much time to go through the posts. and is there away you could end the chatroom like behavore of some of the persons , so whe dont have to loose much time reading the postings, i reather spend my time on ....when ever you come to holland ore the domanican republik i will buy you a beer and show you around as way to thank you for this great forum.

Hi, Flyingdutchman,

I appreciate the invitation. I used to visit the DR a lot, but I've recently settled on Bunos Aires as my favorite haunt.

I agree that a chat room would be a good idea and would reduce the garbage posts in the Forum. However, it would be very server-intensive, and as I just explained in the post above, I'm concerned with overloading my server.

Hi Jackson. Thanks for keeping things humming along.

Now for a minor gripe (if allowed). I see the photos section hasn't been updated in a long time. And I realize that asking about when you're going to get around to doing so is a no-no. But, don't you think you should you put some kind of "last updated" info near the photos link? I think that would be easy to do and be an easy and quick confirmation of that status of the photos section. It's been so long since this section was updated, I'm wondering just how many goodies you've yet to put up.

Thanks

I'll torture you by telling you that I have approximately 300 photographs in storage. Anyway, the good news is that I recently re-designed the photo section to make it easier for me to add photos (no thumbnails to create, etc.) and I expect to upload everything in the near future. I'll post a notice on the front page when it's ready.

Jackson,

I have a question for you. From time to time it would be nice to be able to send a private email to another member of the forum, but you seem to have disabled this feature of the software. Not trying to tell you how to run your board, I'm sure you have a logical reason for disabling this, along with the PM feature of the software. How about sharing this logic. Thanks in advance.

Hi Dougie,

You are correct in recognizing that the vBulletin software I use to run the forum has what they call a "Private Messages" feature. I have this feature turned off because it's very server-intensive, and right now, with 15,000 daily visitors and 500,000 (yes, that's 1/2 a million) hits every day, each requiring a php routine reading the MySQL database, I'm concerned about adding any additional load to the CPU. As it is right now, the site goes down about once a month because of a CPU overload.

I imagine in the future that I will spring for the funds to buy a dual processor, dual hard drive server, but that's a $5,000 expenditure, and I just bought the one we're using now just last September.

Jackson,
First of all thanks for taking on this project and keeping this forum open. It is far better than the original WSG from 5 years ago!!

In the California section, could you add a section for Concord, CA ?
I have noticed a few new AMP's opening in this area. I know Walnut Creek is running AMP's out of town, and I think they ran to Concord. There are also a few incall escorts working in Concord area as well. I'll be the trailblazer for the East Bay Area, but I'd like to see Concord/ Pleasant Hill/ Walnut Creek/ Pittsburg/ Antioch get separtated from the SF posts as the SF section is large and growing.

Thanks

Great site Jackson. Thanks a lot.

A suggestion: Could you add posts that say (in general) 'Could someone please give me updated and specific info concerning XXX' to the spam list? What's the point of asking that question? The purpose of the board is to answer it in the first place, right?

The actual post sometimes comes out different from the version seen in Preview Message.
This was true in my last post under safe sex, where the > sign designating lines
that I am responding to got omitted from most of the post, rendering it confusing.

Also the colors don't seem to work (per my message in the Test Messages). Am I doing
something wrong?

You've probably got hidden carrage return characters imbedded in the text, probably from copying the text from an email or a text editor and then pasting the text into the forum's screen. When you do this, you have to comb through the message and manually delete these carrage returns.

As far as the color, I'd be just as pleased if you and every posted only used black lettering.

Jackson,
great website - the nation should give you the Presidential Medal of Freedom for your services to huMANity - maybe it will one day.

My comment (OK, whinge) is regarding the regular forum posting privileges. If a regular member posts in a fast-moving forum (like the Opinions section is sometimes) his post doesn't show up for ages and when it does it is 2 or 3 pages behind the tip ie completely out of date because the post winds up with the timestamp when the user submitted it and not when the moderator passed it.

Is there a way that the moderator could give a new timestamp so when the post is let through it winds up at the top and not hidden by new posts submitted by other users.

Regards,

Angus

Know you are busy and we really thank you for your effort. Simple Question, when and if the photo section will be updated and are you to add USA? Simple answer fine , "maybe, never, get lost, `next week, no time , get lost, f--- you, whatever, ect" <BIG GRIN> Thanks PWhipped

Hi Pwipped,

Please have patience about the impending update of the photo gallery. I have completed a complete re-design of it's operation, and am now going through all the photos, renaming, cropping, resizing and otherwise re-structuring them for the new format.

FYI, I do not anticipate ever having a USA photo section. It's just too fraught with potential problems, including liable suits from women whose photos may be posted against their consent.

Exactly what do I have to do to get Senior Membership here? I hate that my posts are not visible immediately. I've seen at least one person with less posts than me with senior membership...

- PB

There are no published criteria, because if I set out a list of criteria, then the serial spammers would follow the criteria just to get changed to Senor status and start spamming the forum. I can tell you this, it has nothing to do with the number of posts, and has everything to do with the quality of the information you bring to the forum.

For more info, please read the FAQ.

Jackson,

First, let me thank you for providing such a great forum for us mongers to share our experiences.

I have a question about how specific we should be about service providers in our posts, especially in countries like China, where prostitution is illegal and, from time to time, very strictly enforced.

I only share phone numbers of individual service providers via email with "regulars", rather than post them on the forum. This is to protect the service provider. On the other hand, if I am talking about a well known area or public establishment, I will usually just post the details.

What is the forum policy and/or your opinion on this?

Thanks.

OAH

P.S. I would also like your take on how much monitoring of the Forum is actually done by LE. For example, there were a few establishments in Shanghai shut down very soon after being posted recently.

Ynot
05-17-03, 11:26
OldAsiaHand,

For what it's worth, the following is a post from Jackson regarding posting contact info of providers in the USA:

Editor's Note:

The address and/or telephone number(s) originally posted in the preceeding report have been removed by the Forum Admin.

Prostitution is illegal in the United States, and thus posting of names, address and telephone numbers of service providers exposes them to a certain level if risk. Therefore, specific contact information for service providers located in the USA is only permitted if posted by the actual provider, and only in the Classified Advertisements section. In other words, if a service provider wants to advertise their address and/or telephone number in the Forum, they have to register a User Name and post this information themselves.

Thanks,

Jackson
Just my 2¢ here, and Jackson may agree or disagree, but I would assume that what he said for the American providers would hold true anywhere that prostitution is illegal, especially since some of these countries put suspected prostitutes to death. Since I found out that Jackson doesn't want us to post specific contact information, I stopped doing so. However, if the provider has voluntarily provided contact information to a public information source (e.g. telephone book, newspaper, website, etc.), I will sometimes post where the information is available while avoiding posting the specific contact information myself.

Regarding LE monitoring this board, you may want to check out www.worldsexguide.org/WSGMediaSightings.html for a little info on how LE uses this board.

OldAsiaHand
05-17-03, 22:16
ynot,

Thanks. It makes sense to me that this should apply elsewhere, as well. Let's see if Jackson agrees. It may not be necessary, but I normally get permission from an individual provider before I share their contact details at all.

OAH

P.S. The other question is that if we share info by email off the forum, is this considered "backchanneling"?

Ynot
05-17-03, 22:27
OAH,

Yes, that would be considered backchanneling. People do it all the time here, and as far as I know, Jackson has never had anything against it. However, he has been removing the e-mail addresses of new (regular) members from their posts. Seems a lot of people lately have been posting for the sole purpose of getting backchanneled information without posting any useful information to the board that the rest of us could use.

OldAsiaHand
05-18-03, 00:49
ynot,

I noticed the same removal on some of the China boards which prompted my question.

OAH

Greetings Gentlemen,

The new policy, which I will formally announce next week in the opening page of the forum, is that Regular Members may not post email address or web addresses, but that Senior Members, who are this Forum's proven contributors, may certinaly continue to post email addresses and engage in "backchanneling" as they may need.

This change in policy is in response to the rapidly escallating number of new Regular Members who were posting requests for info along with their email addresses, but who wern't contributing anything to the Forum's content.

In addition, I am considering activating the Forum's Private Messaging system for use by Senior Members.

Thanks,

Jackson

Hi Jackson,

That would be great if the senior members could actually have a private messaging system. I agree that a lot of the new users come on board solely for the purpose of getting information and do not contribute in any way. So this could actually help in bypassing them.

Keep up the great job you are doing on the board.

I use the PM system on another board and it's great because it allows the members to communicate privately without disclosing their e-mail addresses. But that will also add a greater bandwidth burden, and I've noticed that this site has been "down" quite a lot lately. Is this a temporary problem, or does this site just generate too much traffic?

The site attracts so much traffic (18,000 unique visitors a day, and that doesn't count people who visit several times in a day) that the current dedicated P4 server gets overwhelmed on a regular basis. Therefor, I was recently compelled to buy a new server (dual processors, dual HD's, 2 gig ram) that will be going online on the next several days. There will be an anouncement in the Forum's opening page when the change has been effected.

When this new server is operational, I expect to make a number of changes in the Forum's operation, including moving the entire USA section to it's own forum, and activating the Private Messaging system in what will become the International Forum.

Mr. Jackson, PWhipped here, I want your honest opinion please.

Am I posting too long of reports?? Should I make them shorter and bullit style or the funzy way, I do not want to waste space if you do not wish

Am I posting too much detail?

What can I do to make them better?

As you can tell by my demeaner, I may take your advice and I may not<grin>. You can see from other posts, I am my own person, but always listen to ideas and advice.

Also, is it Proper to post in the Classified for others, I did once, but do not know if it proper.

Thanks for the WSG, I enjoy the fun as much as the sex, I am older than a lot of the guys out there, but I keep in good shape and can keep up with most of the "young punks"<GRIN_GRIN>
Damn, I wish there were places like Newport and the Hilltop in SC at or near Atlanta, only a few regulars at a few motels, but they get busted all the time and not very safe, LE and medical. Also the change each or every other week is good. But a regular is good also. The escorts service is too expensive for 2 -3 trips aweek. In fact, even once a month or year as a matter of fact. A really enjoy and get off on Asian, but the AMP's are the same price, the "Ideal" would be a Newport Tn place with Asian's for 60-1/2hour,80 45min, 100 full hr, all with Full Service as Newport is and Hilltop for 71, 1 for the raincoat<grin> Damn, I did it again a long f--- post, sorry, E-Mail if you wish,, PWhipped_1950 at Hotmail.com

Long reports are great, and in fact the primary purpose of this forum is to facilitate the posting of travel reports, as opposed to the minor banter that has become prevalent in many sections.

Can I post photos on this site if I've already posted them on another site (WSA)?

I have a suggestion for this outstanding site: A glossary of common forum abreviations in the FAQ section.

I can figure out some of the abrieviations, but some have completly stumped me. I looked around the WSG site, but had no luck on finding definitions for the abbreviations.

Member ratings -

I just noticed a member attaining a "rating" of "senior member" with ony 6 posts, whereas I'm probably with the most number of posts while still "ranked" as "regular member." Thank god there are alternatives.

Just an observation and my opinion, for what it's worth.

Boxcc,

Seems I remember Jackson addressing this in an earlier post. I believe he said that he wants to keep the forum in "real time." It's not a perfect system, and there are pro's and con's to either posting the regular members' posts when they were submitted or when they are approved.

I think that shortly, this subject will be moot. Jackson has said that as part of the many changes he is making to the forum, he will be revising the membership process. I would guess that with this change, there will no longer be a delay in postings. I am sure that Jackson would much rather there be no delay, either.

Ynot, thanks for the info. I should have read the damn board! I agree that it isn't a perfect system. But, I want to prevent spammers as much as Jackson does, so I can live with the inconvenience of having to look back through the board to see if a regular member has posted.

I do however like the senior/regular member hierarchy, and hope that continues. It makes it easier to weed out the bullshit!

Thanks again,

Miko, I know that it's a pain in the ass to have your posts delayed. But, after reading more about the situation, it's not the quantity of posts that gets you elevated to senior member, it is the quality. That rule is in place to prevent serial spammers from slamming the board.

If you are asking a lot of questions, and not providing good information, then it may take a while to make senior member. Now, I'm not saying that you do this, so don't take this the wrong way. I'm only saying that with the work load that Jackson has to keep the board up and runnning, especially with the server conversion that just happened, then he may not have as much time to consider your elevation.

For what it's worth, if I notice someone that is posting good info, with a lot of posts, I will lobby Jackson on their behalf to be elevated to senior member. I don't know what board you post on, but if you post as often as it appears, you shouldn't have a problem getting someone on that same board to go to bat for you. The trick is to try to develop friendships with your fellow mongers. That way, everyone gets along on the board and you get to trust the info provided. Just check out the Greenville, SC board. There are several of us that regularly post there, and it's like we are just one big monger family! lol.

Another reason for regular members not being elevated is that if , just if, they only ask and really do not give any "NEW" info, not just made up from past posts, they could be a LE trying to get us to give info to get us and our ladies busted. I vote to keep it this way and I know it is a big time consuming effort on Jackson. I thank you for your commitment. PWhipped

I agree PW, if they are only regurgitating info that has already been posted, then they should not be elevated. Like I said, it is the quality of the information that gets you to senior status. If you post on a board and no one has posted that info before, then you should be considered for elevation, especially if a senior member can confirm the info provided.

If a newbie provides good info, I try to give them credit for it so everyone will know that the info was good and that it had been verified.

But, my pet peeve is to have a newbie come into the middle of our discussion boards and start asking a bunch of damn questions, especially if those questions have recently been answered. I try to be nice so that we encourage more people to post, but it is awful tempting to flame the newbie just for being lazy.

Jackson,

I humbly ask that you review the postings of a guy named 'The E'. Apparently he makes a habit of disturbing different boards by asking a lot of stupid questions and stirring up a lot of shit. I did a search of his past posts, and it doesn't seem to me that he has contributed enough to this forum to maintain his senior member status, but then again I am not the administrator of this excellent site.

I will yield to your judgement. But, I highly recommend that you review this guy's posts and demote him.

Thanks,

Jackson,

You continue to be "the man." Thank you for this forum, which has yeilded more "pootang por moi" than all other sites combined. I also feel a sense of comraderie with many of the other seniors I have met thru this forum.

I have two requests:

First, I echo the sentiments just expressed by Boxcc and Pwhipped, both of whom I respect highly for their contributions in the Southeast. The E, IMHO, has no business being a senior member.

Second, there is a poster on the NC > Charlotte board who currently has 45 information packed posts and has made that board come alive in the past two months. NC Hunter probably slipped thru the cracks, but he is still a regular member.

Thanks for your consideration of these requests.

How's it going?

Even though I'm in the Baltic now, I was browsing the Rio board. All I saw was page after page of hotel and crime chat. And I do mean chat.

I would suggest that that you lay down the law and tell them to use the Rio Hotel board for hotel related posts. I would also suggest that a new board called "crime and safety" be created or something to that effect as it seems that any good posts are drowning in the Rio board.

Congratulations on moving past the 100,000 posts on this forum.

You have done a great thing for many us out here by setting up a great way to communicate to the others like us. You have given us a spot to share info and ask questions of things that are not always accepted in society.

I have to echo what Octatron is saying: Senior members are abusing their subscribership due to the ability not to have their posts screened and delayed up to 48 hours.

Re: message on the Rio De Janiero in Brazil Forum section per
DocBill449: Pure solicitation for travel agency information.
Thats abusing the priviledge. Even posting email addresses for
direct routing of information that does nothing to contribute to the main purpose of the Stated Mission statement and the Board.

I do feel some of the ancillary information on the dangers and politics related to a local regarding scoring chicks is acceptable.

Thanks,

Hi,

If you want me to review a specific report, then please use the "Report this post to a moderator" link at the bottom of the report. This function will send me an email with a link directly back to the report, along with your comments. After my review, I will send you an email advising you of my observations and what action I may have taken.

Looks like there are great demand for photos. Know you are a busy man and you have been doing a wonderful, first rate job .... so please do not take it as a demand or negative comment, curious if you have any plan (call for volunteers?) on the "submit photos" service. Personally, while photos service would be nice and would probably solve the problem above, it is the current text info exchanges that I found to be most useful and unique.

I'm sorry to say: I resent not being able to read Jony Vegas posts on the Rio de Janeiro board. He brought up some valid points about certain users not utilizing the content of the board and sort of got on a rant which is totally understandable and justified to bring to light. Then he's attacked by the people who are ruining the content of the board and not allowed to make an intelligent reply to fend off posters who think this board exists to provide them with personalized travel agency services. I have to
say that Jony Vegas always makes outstanding contributions that are readable and informative in my short time as a frequenter of this web site. Likewise he should be given credit for trying to illuminate a situation that could easily be remedied if some of those posters who how in the hell they made SENIOR status when all they do is post for travel assistance is beyond my logic.

If I reported every message that appears to be abusing the intent of the WSG Forum, I think it would be soon overwhelming from its shear repeticiousness, but I am sorely tempted.

I saw the changes you made to the Philippines Forum. I'm not sure I follow them. I thought you had separate sections for archives. If so - wouldn't you consider the “Angeles City - 2002 Reports” forum an archive as well? Also, I'm not sure I understand the distinction between “Angeles City – 2003 Reports” and the regular discussion forums (as in Cebu, Manila, etc). Was your intent to have these forums “Reports” only? I just wanted a little clarification. Thanks!

Hey Jackson, great idea for a Compaints about other members section. I usually hate to bother you with complaints like that, because I know you are so busy trying to keep this site up and running while improving it everyday.

I am however a little confused and would like to ask a question. Is it better just to report a questionable post to you with the link at the bottom of the post, or is it better to complain on your new Complaints board? I don't want to get involved in, nor start any more flame wars. As you so eloquently pointed out, that is not what this forum is to be used for. So, I would rather just point out some of the questionable posts to you and let you take care of the problem. I just want to know the best way to do that. Thanks for your time, it is appreciated.

Hi Box,

Actually, there's no reason you can't use both avenues to apprise me of troublemakers. However, the "Report this post to a moderator" function is perfect for alerting me of a specific post, and the Complaints section is intended to provide a seperate area where one or several members can join in to alert me of persisent problems with a specific member.

We'll see how it works out.

As someone who was getting 10 short timers a day before John Skinless arrived, she really deserves it. Some of the BA photo ladies are nice enough to warrant a John Skinless poke too. Great to see the reactivation of the photo feature. Two questions ...

(a) Is there a way to add more than one photo per report?

(b) The new approach seems to be different from the old approach of sending you mail directly with photos attachments to be put into a seperate "Photo Gallery". Is that going to disappear? I like the old approach since all photos are in one place but I like the new approach since I can get better context to the photo.

Le Grand

Hi Le Grand,

I haven't found any capability in the Forum software to facilitate more than one photograph per report, although I certainly agree that it's a good idea.

I understand your observations about the previous method of displaying the photographs. However, it simply proved to time consuming for me, as opposed to allowing members to post their photographs directly into the Forum, which doesn't require any work on my part.

First off, I would like to thank you for the time that you spend sustaining the site. The World Sex Guide is a one of a kind place, its' importance and value in helping hobbyists is tremendous.

My question for you concerns the posting of photos. I beleive I had read that pictures of women or places from the States were not allowed. Is this indeed the case? If it is, forgive my ignorance but, why? I am not suggesting that it is a dumb policy as I am sure that there are some good reasons for it. I assume that it has to do with legal issues, but I am not sure and curious.

Jackson - I'm noticing a new behavior in the boards. On the state boards with multiple city sub-boards, the city boards list page used to sort the cities by most recent posting, but now the city list remains sorted alphabetically regardless of last post.

This is not a good change, in my opinion. Generally, I'm only interested in one or two cities in a state (e.g. in VA I'm interested in Richmond and NOVA but not the tidewater-area or western cities.) Previously, a quick glance at the city list page told me whether there were new posts in my cities of interest by those cities being at the top of the list. Now, I have to read the small-print date on each city's line to determine whether new posts exists, which is both harder on these old eyes, and more prone to mistakes.

I would ask that you restore the old behavior if possible. Thanks!

I agree with HazlEyes on how the cities now appear. I like boards with new messages appearing first rather than the alpha order. I regularly view the boards in which I have previously mongered and it is much easier to see what is new in them with the old order.

I bet if you did a survey on this it would be at least 2 to 1 for the old posting order.

I'll weigh in on the minority view, then, I guess. I like being able to find things in the same spot time after time as opposed to searching for them. If I want to see things in time order, I can use the "View New Posts" or "Last 24 Hours" functions.

That said, the scripts involved could probably be rewritten slightly to make sortable table columns, so people could just arrange them however they wanted.

Good solution. I'll admit I did try to double click on the "Last Post" column just to see if I could sort.

Jackson,

I've tried to post 20-30kb pics but they were all over 640*480pixels and thus denied.
I'm not going to make them any smaller, so please, would you consider this policy:
Under 40kb: Any size is OK
Over 40 kb: Forget about posting
The photo I posted here is 18kb. A 40kb pic would give you the whole scene: Two tits and a face!

Alphabetic order?
Some boards are a mess because you can't see when the original post was made, everytime someone answers the post is back on top, new date and all. Especially when you're trying to find passwords that sucks:(!
But here on WSG the latest post is exactly what I'm looking for, the hottest threads on top - where they should be.
I'm quite familiar with the alphabet, but I don't want to A-B-C my way through a list of dreadful places before I arrive at my destination.
I prefer the latest-in-first-to-read format by far,

Hi,

I don't under your statements in the previous paragraph. They appear to be in conflict.

Regarding the ptoto size limitation, the restriction is to conserve bandwidth, which has increased 400% from 100g/day to 400g/day since I activated the photo feature.

Why don't you reduce the original photo to the 640 px max, and then post it to see what it looks like.

Jackson,

I'd like to adress Mr. Freeler with a solution and of course I can't message him directly (yet)....

If you don't want to spend the time learning Photoshop or one of the other profesional photo editing programs, there is a wonderful little graphic viewing program called Irfanview, it is freeware. The program and its pluggins can be downloaded at http://www.irfanview.com . Resizes photos quite well, especially shinking larger images. Getting the photo to 20k shouldn't be a major problem, and would make it load faster for punters and mongers. 640 x 480 really isn't all that unreasonable

Shit Jackson: That's an awful lot of bandwidth. As you may know , I uploaded some photos myself and I am amazed at the amount of hits they got (nearly as many bonks as I got:) over 6,000 on some of the Thai ones. Lotsa lurkers not adding much except popularity to the board.

Freeler does have a rather large, unique and genuine set of photos. He wants to post them in original size without shrinking them. He usually knows what he is on about. I personally don't like his choice but he has a cult following.

I had to reduce some of mine in pixel size even though they were quite light.

It might be an idea to restrict access to photos to members only to conserve bandwidth and get rid of the kiddies.

Two other points:

1. Good to see you have a sense of humor: your summary of SA's post was a good laugh and had me chuckling all day.

2. Laura, the diamond found by Roxana, is worth a diamond. A body made in heaven!

Hi Skinless,

The thing is that posting a high resolution photo on a website doesn't make it appear as a sharper photo, in just makes it bigger, many times too big to fit the screen. In addition, Freeler can reduce a copy of his photos for the website and still keep his high-resolution originals for himself. In other words, he won't lose anything.

I'd like to do something about the site's 90% lurker ratio, but if I require user registration to view the photographs, when I'll be flooded with registrations to be processed from "users" who have no intention of posting anything, so what's the point?

Jackson,

There is nothing wrong with the photo options as you have them now. I shoot in a Nikon Raw Format and my pictures are up to 34 megs each as shot. All that anyone needs to do is reduce the size, change the DPI and then restore the new image. The quality will still be better than the computer screen is capable of showing.

Below is a photo that in TIFF was 34 megs after resizing and changing to a JPEG, and it is now 61 KB. It is easy to do if the poster wants to take the effort to conform the image to your standards.

Personally, I'd far rather have a limit on size in terms of bytes than in terms of screen size. Internet Explorer will generally automatically resize any pic down to fit into the available window, so that's really not an issue. It's a simple thing to use any number of photo tools to cut down the resolution of a photo so that it will conform to a byte limit, and you will generally lose less in terms of quality doing that than you will by resizing X by Y.

StudPlayer, it must be your computer that's responsible for popups -- it doesn't happen on any of the three I've tried here.

Dear SexReview,

Thanks for confirming my point!

Again, my photo is MUCH smaller in byte-size than yours, yet is it equal in screensize.
Your pic uses way more bandwidth than mine. In fact I had to compress for a second time to meet the screensize criteria, the original is smaller than yours byte-wise, yet four times larger in screensize.
The same goes for the pic posted with this message.

Sorry to all others for waking up my case...

Freeler,

My pictures start out as 3008 X 2000 so I don't see how your photos could be four times the size. The 640 X 480 is really a large photo for a site to allow someone to post. Many sites have limits much lower 320 x 300 and 65 kb. You just need to resize the whole photo for the site, as Jackson said keep your photos full size on your system and resize a copy of it.

Sexreview,

Once again you've confirmed what I've said since this posting thing began!

"Many sites have limits much lower 320 x 300 and 65 kb."
Just like you, these people don't see why an image that's smaller in filesize can be larger in screensize. It is their problem. If they understood basics about resolution, downsizing etc, they could save loads of bandwidth.
"640 X 480 is really a large photo for a site to allow someone to post".
It was when 640*480 screens were the norm. Now we're looking at 1024*725 or 1200*1600 and then 640*480 is crap. Especially if you know that my jpegs enter this world at about 1070*710 and only 75kb (after downsizing from TIFF, which I do keep, like the 75kb jpegs and the negatives, THNX!) where your posted image is 61kb at 640*425.
Again: Screensize limits don't save bandwidth, filesize limits do!

Jackson has allowed people to post 215kb images - bandwidth has gone up four times!

Just my 2 cents . . .

There are millions of pictures of naked women on the net. If this feature caused the Site breakdown last week or uses too much storage, it is not worth it. The only pictures I want to see are of identified providers who are presently available and working. Not some unidentified ladies, attractive or not, that someone happened to screw (or didn't) several years ago. Each picture should have some associated text that explains the relevance of the shot and particulars as to who she is, where to find her and services rendered. Without that who cares? There are a huge number of hits to these photos only because we are curious, not because they are providing anything useful or even entertaining.

As to the 90% lurkers, so be it. It is not the quantity of posts that count, but the quality. If someone does not have anything useful, interesting or funny to post, I would prefer they DON'T post. And most would only ask - "Can anyone tell me how to get laid in Buenos Aires", despite the 1000's of previous posts that they didn't bother to read. Hey, I like to BS and express opinions as well as read the ideas of others, but the real usefulness of the Forum is providing hard info - who, what, where and how much.

God Bless the Forum.

James D 2004

I hate the new alpha sort. Here are my reasons.

I didn't heard any complains about the date sort, it ain't broke, so why fix ...

In California, the majority of cities are in the south within short driving distances of each other. Since I have to go out of town, OC, anyway, I'm tuning to most of the cities. The date sort is good, the one with new messages go to the top. The alpha sort is terrible. Do I have to look through over 10 cities for new messages? If you give every city in LA a seperate entry, that would not be possible to read.

You can do search, but the simple search for new messages include everything in the world. I confess I do that from time to time, to kill time. It ain't practical. Now there's no simple way to search for new messages in some cities in California.

You can also subscribe to the areas you like. You receive email when new messages arrive. But again it's impractical to subscribe over 10 cities in california alone. And you want to look at some other places of interest all of a sudden.

As for getting lost, I can bookmark anywhere in the forum, as big as the whole california, or as small as a single city. The links are good whatever sort is used. So I used to have the best of both world, and now one is lost. Bookmarks / shortcuts are way better than locating the same city at the same place in the list!

I understand your position, but my opinion is that it's better that the sections are listed in alphabetical sequence all the time because it means that every time you return to the list, your favorite cities are alyays in the same location on the list, as opposed to being presented in different locations on the list from day to day.

Here is my state with many cities of interest that I have to deal with!

http://www.wsgforum.com/vforum/forumdisplay.php?forumid=39

If you want to find your favourite city, bookmark is the only way. If you want to know which one have new messages, date sort.

Come on, if a newbie want to browse what cities are on offer, date sort or alpha sort doesn't matter. If a newbie wants to find a specific city, come on, just use 'find on this page' of his browser!

Jackson,
Let me add my vote to the list of folks wanting to bring
back date sorted listings. Alphabetical sorting might
make sense if you are going on a trip and want to check
out some remote cities, but if you check your local area
daily, it doesn't help at all. I think you've (with best

Dear Mr Jackson

Please try to devise a policy regarding photos. Mr Freeler seems to have a workable model: he puts a photo of one of the big meloned freaks he fucks in with each of his reports/comments. Marauder is a different case: he has disgusting pussies splattered all over the place as well as endless links to his yahoo group. These j/o photos do not add much to this site which is primarily concerned about getting good tail, and they also put me off my morning grapefruit. Prokofiev, who is one of your wisest contributors, said that photos are no good unless they come with a report on who the lady is, how much she charges, what she does and where she can be bonked. His other comments about photos and registering were also on the money. I second them, even if my taste in music and pussies tend to be more conservative.

I have been following and using this site for a number of years. I have been travelling around the world and have gained great info from the site. Thanks!

The picture upload is great but I gotta agree with Skinless here. Some of the pics that are posted turn me off my coffee, other are taken off web sites and showing just beautiful girls but there is no info. How, where, price, contact. It is a waste of space just uploading a picture without info!

Great site and will keep posting when I get a chance - job change so little travelling at the moment.... Damn I miss Asia!

Jackson,

It doesn't matter to me which way you have it listed, alphabetical or by date, just as long as it doesn't change. I am a creature of habit and get used to things being one way or the other.

But, I do think that listing the boards Alphabetically may attract new posters to often unused boards. Take the South Carolina board. It gets kind of jumbled sometimes with posts for Spartanburg or Other Areas getting posted in G'ville and vice versa, etc. I think that happened because people looked at the board, saw where the most recent action was posted and posted their info there so it would be seen. So boards that were at the bottom of the list, saying they handn't been posted on in a month or two, were never utilized because everyone wanted to post on the most looked at boards. Now that it is alpahbetical, people may be more inclined to post in the correct areas. That is if they can figure out where the hell they are! lol

Keep up the great work. I do love this site

Thanks,
Box

There might be a point to check the messages on good spelling, but you have to understand that a lot of writers dont write in their languages at all, and a lot might not even been to high school at all, there might even be a lot of persons writing in a hurry to give some information. I always try to do my best on writing, but I am always in a hurry. I am not a good writer, not even in my own langues. I think to be hard on this point a lot of us will have to stop writing there storys, but when I see a lot of talking going on without information. Look also in the behavior on people talking between thim, thats what disturps me.

I agree on chatroom styl writing, but this is maybe what the person thinks is good English. Maybe its good to correct some spelling, but maybe send it by email to the person with the letters he did not spell right in a other color so he can correct his writing. I like your site very much and hope you can see also this point of sight in the writing from persons.

Hi,

Actually, good grammer and correct spelling are not required. All I ask is for everyone to use correct capitalization and puncutation, which is something that anyone can do. It doesn't require an advance education, it doesn't require good writing skills, all it requires is that you are not lazy.

Thanks,

Jackson

Hi, Jackson. Thanks for all your hard work. Suggest that maybe if on the home page, in the section where it says "Photo Uploading Now Available," you posted a linked to the photo guidelines, fewer people would post pictures depicting sexual intercourse. Or, maybe even a short message in that section saying not to do that. Just a thought.

As a Newbee here, I have read a lot of diversified posts and gained a lot of information for my upcoming trip to Cuba. I have also noted a lot of "Trip Reports" which are much more detailed than just "name, rank, serial # and cost." I have enjoyed these and agree that simply putting up some XXX shots doesn't help me at all but the details (who, when, where, what, why and how) are great roadmaps.

And as for pictures, I agree 100% with the "This is really her" with specifics. Good pics, and they don't even have to be nude, lend a lot of substance and depth to the words which they accompany.

This site is also very well administered. Must be a labor or love (or lust).

Thanks.

Jackson,
I just want to add my voice to the contingent asking for a return to sort-by-date over sort-by-alphabet within a given geographical region. It really makes the site more useful when you can monitor what is the freshest information, especially when you are looking for multiple cities or areas in a region. I do realize the site has growing pains as you increase bandwidth and implement software improvements. Keep up the excellent work!

Prokiev, Skinless and the others are right about pictures needing to be linked to information that allows you to hook up with a girl. The mission statement of this board is (paraphrased not exact) to help other mongers and punters get laid... how does a picture of a girl do that if it doesn't tell you where to find her and what sort of rates and services she offers? Not sure I can offer a solution, I'm sure you don't want to spend even more hours in moderation here than you already do. I just had to support their point as being on target, and as far as the bandwidth issue with pictures I have to admit I've wasted some posting to the humurous pictures forum- LOL ;)

I am not really in a position to 'complain' as I have not posted any pics but I am an avid supporter of your board, too often in spirit and not in action!

However you have gone to the trouble of setting up the Photo Galleries and these started off fine.

Several of them are now just used for conventional posting and sometimes it is hard to even find a photo. There is a case, now and again, for written text following up a photo posting but this now slips into full-blooded conventional posting.

In order to make the photo posting what they should be is there not a case of limiting written postings to just, say, ONE after a photo and then having the poster revert back to the correct site if he wants to carry on discussing or enlarging on the subject.

It seems that there is a danger that your Photo Galleries will. by and large, soon be without photos!

BA, inveriably, is a large offender!

Regards

I agree, I just haven't figured out how to solve the problem.

I don't think Jackson really cares that the Message Storage section is viewable to the general public. So far, no one has been stupid enough to post anything there. To be honest, I read it every once in a while to see if there is some guideline that I might not be following. I don't think it hurts to have it viewable to everyone. Thought it might be a difficult one to control (continuous postings without pics).

Why not take the draconian line and make it impossible to post in the Photo Galleries unless the posting is accompanied by an icon to open a pic. i.e clicking 'Submit Message' will not react without recognising the existence of a picture icon?

Can you do this, technically? It would be one way of making sure that these sites are used for what they were intended rather than on-going (and often) irrelevant chat.

A long shot

Does the WSG have any affiliation with Globe Finder?

I find that each time that I log on to the WSG Forum 'Globe Finder' does its bit and kicks my 'home' search engine out of bed.

When I revert back to the Internet I find Globe Finder sitting there.

This only happens after I have been to the WSG Forum.

Sorry for late, but at least... I did now.

let me suggest you something.

I see more and more your comment about rewriting post because guys are writting sms style.

This takes you time, bothers you, ...
So my suggestion is : edit the post, cut the text and replace always by :
"Was an interesting post, but too bad written so XYZ will have to rewrite it with Caps to have it here..."

and you leave this with the guys name.
I bet that the guy will not make it twice.
They are proud about their posts, so don't worry they will rewrite it...

Because now, you do the rewritting and nobody cares, they keep posting and up to you to do the job... This can go for ever and can even amplify : so easy Jackson is here to correct posts...

It is just an opinion, ... but ...

Again thanks a lot for your great job

Dear Jackson,

to avoid repeating messages like "what's the scene in xxx town" or "where can I get laid in yyy city" by new members who are too lazy to scroll through ALL the reports , I suggest, you appoint one or two senior members for each city. These senior members shall prepare and regularly update a general report of their city or area which shall have its own thread and shall be independent from the main message board (like you did for Argentina under: "Argentina Links", but more in a report form)

Not only this will help to avoid the above mentioned stupid messages, but also give a detailed overview of the scene on one page for newbies in each town, as the main locations for action do not really change.

What do you think ?

Dear Editor:

What's that stuff about "Private Messages"? I thought the philosophy of this forum was to share all the information about sex with all the community.

Hi,

I appreciate concern. However I made a decision to activate the private messaging system for several reasons:

First, it will cut down on the back-and-forth chatter that currently clogs the Forum.

Second, it will eliminate the need to post email addresses in the Forum.

Third, the sensitive nature of the subject in the Forum does legitimately lend itself to justify the need for some information (for example telephone numbers) to be exchanged between interested members that otherwise would not otherwise be posted on an open forum.

Thanks,

I'd like to make a suggestion - I don't know if it's been made before, so my apologies if it has.

Is it possible for the timestamp on posts that are delayed for moderation (for Regular Members) to be the time it actually appears in the forum (assumed to be when the post is approved by the moderator) as opposed to when the post is submitted by the user?

In short, a post held for moderation generally gets "inserted" into the stream of newer posts, and if you're like me and read the forums frequently, it's easy to miss those "older" posts because I dismiss them as being older, even though I hadn't actually read them.

I hope that makes sense.

Hi Wild Bill,

Your request makes sense, but it's not possible. Anyway, it's not really important because this is a report archive, not a chat room. For example, if you were to file a detailed report on your trip to Rio de Janerio, it wouldn't make much difference if it actually appeared a day or two after you first entered it.

Quick suggestion: It would be quite nice to have RSS feeds generated for each of the various subsections of the site.

RSS, if you are not familiar with it is an XML standard for distributing news feeds et al to internet connected non browser type clients (ie, email clients quite often have the ability to display XML feeds in their summary pages).

For a non technical explanation of RSS, have a quick search on google or take a glance at http://www.xml.com/pub/a/2002/12/18/dive-into-xml.html and for the technical specs on RSS look at http://www.purl.org/rss/1.0/

I am happy to offer any technical advice or assistance you may wish.

I have a question that probably has been answered somewhere in the forum, but I cannot find it.
There are yello icons that represent new posts, but I have not been able to determine how they work. What resets them so that a member can tell where the new posts are? I typically scan the forum each day, reading posts in areas of interest, but right now, there are "new post" icons for posts that I've read a week ago. I know there must be some simple key that I've overlooked but I've searched everywhere I can think for the answer.

Hi Jackson, again!

On the search matter - sorry to be a bore, but it might help solve the problem (if there is one).

I note that POM would normally not work but it did, previously, (albeit the search produced a mass of other words with POM in then).

I wonder if there is some sort of date barring which has cropped up on the Thailand search - if you enter SPASSO my posting to you appears of yesterday and I know that SPASSO has been referred to previously. However, if you enter some obvious words, e.g. ESCORT; AGENCY and others nothing shows and the result of 'Nothing shown' appears very quickly - almost indicating that the search has not been carried out or is shortened by some form of limitation?.

Anyhow - this is not the end of the world but there does seem to be a block somewhere in the system.

The Forum does a great job - just sorry that I cannot contribute more at the moment due to my not being let off the lead!

Thanks for your advice and taking the trouble to check.

Correct - my postings come up after having just carried out the execise that you have done but these are all 'close dates'. My question to Jackson (and this is where I think that something has vanished down a Black Hole) is 'where is my posting of POM about a year ago?'. I have not deleted it and it showed up on a previous search about 8 months ago as I wanted to check the date of posting. The fact that it seems to have vanished makes me think that a lot more has vanished or, perhaps, certain postings in certain areas have been, inadvertantly, date barred. Perhaps something happened when Jackson had a posting problem a month or two back? Certainly SPASSO's name appeared on the Forum at several points over the last year or so and it has also vanished (unless I am doing something cretinous)

Anyhow, this is very boring unless one was trying to find a definitive item in the BKK section but it has now become trivial and I will survive - the irony of this is that I posted in order to try and locate Peter Pom, a reliable and good provider in BKK who mysteriously vanished after five years of A1 service. This time he seems to have gone for good - perhaps someone is really out to get him in which case they seem to be succeeding - but that does not account for the others who have also disappeared!

Hi Jackson,

You had posted the following querry in the Mumbai, India section of the Forum.
The link is clearly shown on the main page which contains the navigation menu on the left side.

I use Netscape and IE - both latest versions.

If the surfer left clicks and opens the new pages on the same page of the browser, the links in the black band at the top continue to appear.

However, if one right clicks and opens anything on a new page/window, then the page that appears does not contain the navigating menu on the left nor does it contain the links in the black band at the top.

IMHO that it is a "frames" problem. If you specify that any new page opened (with right click) should also contain all frames as on the main page, I think the problem can be solved.

Pages might take a wee bit longer to load because of the frames but you can avoid the problem of people asking the same thing over and over again.

Hope this helps.

I don't think you're following his point totally. Regular readers only read the most recent reports. If a report is buried several days back, it gets missed by the most senior members. That is to say, the members who are most competent to respond to new members' questions, don't even see the message because it's buried in the past.

Why can't you re-submit the post, and thus have the software put a new timestamp on it?

DfB,

I completely understand the issue, and I've explored a number of potential work-arounds. For example, if I repost a report, it will appear under my handle, not the original poster. Of course, I could convince every regular member to give me their password, and then one-at-a-time I could log in as them and repost their report, but that's simply impractical.

Thanks,

Jackson

Yankee1 I have left this message on the OKC boards.
I am leaving it here also

I think this is the videovigilante. It is in his website and it was taken by the Oklahoma Gazette.
I do not want to post it until someone can confirm.

Please check it out and tell the board if it is him.

I do not agree with what he is doing but he did catch a few pimps beating up on women so he is doing some good things.
Plus he busted a few cops lying.

Hopes this helps.

Dear Jackson

Could you persuade posters to only post photos in the sections denoted as "photo" categories. In some sections we have upto 12 posts which are simply nothing more than personal chitchat between two members.

This is a top website and after seeing your efforts in Argentina was motivated to donate $15 to the WSG Charities thingy but above is really irritating.

Some might say, "he's only made 3 posts and he's moaning already" and this is true. However if no-one is bothered then simply ignore me as I am happy to live in a democracy.

Jackson,

A Happy New Year to you and the thanks of a grateful poster for all of your efforts to keep WSG up and running. I just wanted you to know that you provide a service that is beyond compare and is extremely useful to all of us in our travels and even in our daily lives.

I only wish that WSG had been avilable in the years when I was doing a lot of international travel. I always thought I had a pretty good nose for sniffing out action, but now I realize that I missed a lot more than I found. Ah well, as the old saying goes, "We get too soon old, and too late smart!"

Thanks again for all your good work, Illigitimi non Carborundum, which loosely translated from the original Latin is "Don't Let the Bastards Wear You Down."

Randy

Thank you for your kind words.

Jackson
