I saw no action on SC. None. I never see any at this time, so since you guys have, you must be going at another time. What time is good? I saw 9 PM written in a previous post, I'll try that this week.
I saw a random SW or two on Powell, very low profile. There are guys that patrol that patch of forest now and cops at the gas station on Lamar and Powell that particular night. But I did see a BSW walking Georgian and a WSW enter a guy's truck at the Powell and Georgian gas station.
I saw a ton of action on SJ in comparison. I almost had a date with a BSW...tell me what you think about this: She said she wanted to see how "big" I was. To answer your question about the best time for Rundberg area, I've seen action there early in the morning around 8:00am and also around noon. In the summer time this area was very active at sundown but now with the change of time and colder weather this info may not apply. I haven't been in Austin for over a year now but my fav. AMP while there was a girl who called herself Maggie. She moves around a lot but can usually be found if you look in the Austin Chroncle and call a few of the AMP's and ask their names.

Just cruise the back streets between Lamar to the West and 35 to teh East, Rundburg to the North and St. Johns to the South, you'll either find several or nothing. Be cautious on the east side of 35 behind 'Bout time cocktails, unless you're into alternative activities you'll likely not like what you find. Also, LE in these areas are very active. As far as South Congress area is concerned I rarely found a gem in that area, I have picked up a couple of 3 or 4's but nothing ever better than that.

I'm in Austin on business for a couple of weeks and tried to find these women that everyone keeps mentioning but couldn't find on SW. I wouldn't try to do any hobbying on 6th for two reasons. One, No SW on 6th. Two, because 6th is the entertainment district, i.e. $$$, Elllie keeps it clean. If you are looking for street girls, 4-8PM South Congress between Oltorf and Ben White, sometimes (haven't seen ANY myself) a few blocks south. I visit Austin occasionally and from what I hear, Sugars is a good place to spend money, but not get much. I like the Yellow Rose for the food and the view. Dances can be fun, but extras are fairly rare. The long time favorite for locals who want extras is Joy, which is north of Austin just off I-5, although I hear it isn't as nice as it was. I should get there this week, so I'll give a report. I've NEVER gotten extras in a club, but I'm not practiced. I look forward to the day when I will, and I am sure that day will arrive soon!

Nothing steady on Manchaca, but I did meet someone at the 7-11 north of where you are talking about two years ago. She asked for change for the phone and I offered my cell, in the car, no one home when she calls there. I gallantly offer her a ride home. She accepts and as we pull into an apartment complex she asks the wonderful old question - "think you can help me out with a few dollars?" I did, we did (in the car) and all was well for another day.
Bottom line is this, Carl had the best advice when he said pull into a parking lot where she can see you and make eye contact, smile and gesture to the passenger seat. I have picked up "amateurs" in at least four areas of town where SWs would never be expected or tolerated if seen being obvious. This occurs most often the last week of any given month, think paydays and AFDC payments (always on the first). Keep your eyes open and your wits about you, these can be the most fun encounters for this hobby.

The only SWs I have had offer that were white, I know 2 black SWs in that area that will do greek, but at triple rates. Not acceptable.
The motel 6 on 35 near Powell works for me, it is cheap and close. Do be aware that LE uses this motel for stings also. You should be okay as long as you remember to pay attention to your surroundings, allow no drugs in your car or room, and go to your room, not hers.
The times vary, I have never found these particular girls out late at night however. Early in the morning (5 - 7 AM) and early evening have been my best times for them. I consider early evening to be between 5 and 10 PM.

I get this unconscious urge to look over my shoulder every so often in that area, even when I happen to be over there for purposes other than... sightseeing. :D

Early morning nightmares are afoot in Austin!
I was cruising St. John's around 4:30am. Saw a decent looking slender brunette walking by, but having just arrived on this city block, I didn't feel safe scooping her up before giving the perimeter a discreet double check. By the time I was feeling safe, she was gone. I was disappointed, because it looked like LE had practically abandoned the neighborhood. LE and the SW's as well, apparently, because they all disappeared.
Juggling the hot spots on either side of 183, a return visit to St. Johns fifteen minutes later gave me the opportunity to see a few more girls out on foot. Two BSW's, aging, nondescript, and a WSW, seemed young, slender body, very short blonde hair. She hopped in and told me her name was Peanut.

We continued southbound, and she kept fidgeting, telling me to watch my speed, use my signals, not to discuss what I wanted to do because of "tape recording". We already went through the whole "are you a cop" bit, but she just couldn't relax. She was really putting me on edge. Then as we headed south of 183, she wanted me to pull into the American Inn parking lot. You know, the run down motel on the feeder just before the Conoco at St. John's. Come on. Pull into a lot of a business I am not patronizing at almost 5am with someone like her? I again refused and explained it was just too risky. Pull into the Conoco, she said. Why? What are we going to do at Conoco?
I hung a right onto St. John's and headed towards Lamar. This was where she started freaking out. Demanding I pull over, let her out, etc. I told her as I kept a steady hand on the wheel and focusing on the road that I'd stop the car and let her out if she would give me back the 20 I gave her when we first originally parked. She wouldn't! Then she opened my car door while I was driving, but she was too scared to jump out because I was still moving along at a good 30mph or so. Her freaking out was really agitating me, and I unconsciously was speeding up. Thankfully at 4:50am, there isn't many other cars to witness this spectacle on St. John's. She opened her door and stood up, screaming for help. What a mess. I kept trying to calm her down, asking for my money and I'd pull over and let her out quietly, but she just would not relent with the panic. Finally, just before Lamar, I said fuck it and let her out. Oh well, 20 bucks is 20 bucks.
You'd think after an episode like that, I'd have just gone home. But as I headed north on Lamar going back to my place, I saw Pamela strolling by and she gave me a little nod. Yeah I was still pretty freaked out, but I guess once again the little head took control. Bought her a pack of cigarettes, and as we headed for an apartment complex parking lot, I told her about the ordeal I had just been through, and thus apologizing for any skittishness or apprehension on my part.

I haven't been cruising too much lately, way too busy with other non-hobby business. But, Friday I had the afternoon free, and did some driving around north Austin. This morning the north Austin hotspots seemed pretty active with both working girls and LE. BM: I would avoid the advertisers in the Austin Chronicle until/unless you've had a recommendation from someone.
