Was heading South on 95 and saw a billboard advertising the Shangra la Spa in Roanoke Rapids. I had the family with me so I didn't check it out. As a Richmond boy this looked like an interesting option to heading north to Woodbridge (Sakura) or further South to Rocky Mount (which never produced more than an over priced HJ) and a hell of a lot closer than Truckers or Osaka in SC. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if this was the standard oriental fare or what. Thanks.

They were offering full service, but they've been closed down already. They were closed a week after opening.

On Wednesday (july 5th), I was driving down I-95 and decided to take a look at Shangri La. Unfortunately, they seemed to be closed - might have been due to the time of day, I was there around 2:00pm. I parked in back, knocked on the back door - no response. I then walked around front and tried the door bell - no response. It wasn't until I was headed back to my car that I noticed the "Open" sign was turned off.

1st post here. had a dream I went there about a month ago and it was OK. Place was very clean. the therapist was ok, but no roaming allowed. A bit steep for a rub down and HJ for $.3 I think I'll stick to NOVA.
I will be coming through town later in the week and need some info. I'm a senior member and post on the Virginia board. I hate the "want info" threads as much as the next guy but I've read through the forum and can't find out some basic info. If anyone can answer a few easy questions I would very much appreciate it. Is the AMP called Shangri La"? If not what is the name? Does anyone have an address or at least a street so I can look it up on mapquest? And finally, is it still open?

TheKingComing down I-95 from Virginia take exit 173, turn right at the bottom of the exit. You will go past some shopping centers, look for the Rite Aid (used to be Eckards). I'm thinking like the Rite Aid actually faces another street so don't make any turns once you get off of I-95. The AMP is just past the Rite Aid on the right. I've been there a few times, just don't remember the name. AMP shares a common driveway with a business next door, no privacy fence around the parking but you do park behind the AMP. If any of the guys that work next door are out in their lot be prepared for some smart ass remark such as when one of them called out to me "git er done". I'll PM with more details.

To the health spa, early one morning. Saw "kim" with passable english, medium build, a cups but basically firm, no real tummy. It was a nicer place than I expected. I guess I expected a super jaded AMP servicing travelers whom they will never see again. Instead, it was quiet there and nice. Kim was a pro but in a nice way, not cold but not gfe happy either. Not jaded, but also probably had seen everything. For me, on this day, all I wanted was a nice massage, some rest, and happy ending. I can't complain about the time or the fee. It was a great break in an otherwise long drive.

Had a nice visit for an hour the other day around lunch time. I had some errands to run in the area & stopped by before heading out to take care of business, but the lone therapist was busy with another customer & said it would be about a 30 minute wait so I went about my business and came back an hour later. Much to my delight, she wasn't busy when I returned & a good time was had by all.
This was my sixth visit to Shangri La in about 2 years, but only the second time I've had any service - the first three visits, it wasn't open when I was passing through town, then I had a nice visit with Cookie (report on 1/4/07), then they were busy & this time with Yoyo, who was a nice looking lady in her mid thirties (at least) - Table shower, offer of a sauna visit (I told her that outside was like a sauna at nearly 100 degrees!), followed by a nice massage with a happy ending. Damages - .8 for the hour, double that for the tip.
I made a visit to the Health Plus Spa about a week and a half ago. I had no clue where exactly it was but just drove into town and looked for the Rite Aid. Kim appeared to be the only girl working and she did me right. She asked if I had ever been there and I said yes, a few months ago but she didn't believe me and was very suspicious and kept asking who I saw and when I was there. I knew that she wasn't going to deliver too much of the goods but after a nice table shower and a mediocre massage she was very hands on and finished the job well. Door fee was 80 and I tipped 40 for the way I left happy.
One question, the sign in front said "Health Plus Spa" but there are reports an "Shangri La", is this the same place or are there two spas down there?

Based on recommendation from Durham Board, paid a visit to RR Health Spa.
I too had the famous "Kim." Had no problem with any possible blockage of activities. My experience:
Table Shower: 7, good scrubdown everywhere.
Massage: 7, would have been higher if she offered oil. Massage was dry. But overall actually received what I was looking for. Nice stretching, hard on shoulders, legs, back.
Other activity: 5, once negotiated, the handy work was a little rushed. Tipped 40. House fee 80.
Overall: 6, I would go back, since this is closest thing to EC/Suffolk I know of, anyway.
Stay safe. Remember, it's an election year.
I'm thinking about taking a drive down there to visit the spa. Is it still there and open for business? I'd hate to make the drive from Va Beach and not get the service I deserve.

I wondering if the Health Spa in RR is still open? May be going that way this weekend. Its <2 hours from Norfolk, so want to make sure its not a waste of a trip!
I took a drive through Roanoke Rapids this past weekend and noticed a certain spa had the open light on so I had to stop and make a visit. Kim is still there. In fact I think she's the only girl there. Paid the .8 up front and got the usual cleaning and massage. Only the flip she gave me a nice handshake and sent me on my way. Though Kim does a peasant job, I wish that place would bring in more girls.

I am pretty close to RR and I have never seen a streetwalker there, but you never know maybe I don't go down the right streets.

I was driving north on 95, needed gas, and a bit to eat. I also had a touch of Asian Fever.
Went to take care of the Asian Fever at HS. My nurse way YOYO. She's mid to late 40's, needs to loose about 40 lbs. The house fee was 80, everything was sub- par. Little Crazy got some exercise, left a 40 tip.
Won't return. guess I'm spoiled by all the talent in Baltimore & DC. Given the location I guess it was OK. I had to laugh at some of the prices on the menu.

LGLifeI have to agree with Lg, after two hit and misses when they first opened I had given up on them, but after a good report I gave it another try and to my surprise Ume performed well. She remembered me from my other two visits and really made sure I wasn't a cop, because I had a decent body she said. So after a few smacks on the ass (LOL) she quickly loosened up. All in all decent massage and ending, and I really like the options. 60 for half and. 80 for the hour.

I was in town for a couple of days and thought I would stop by. From the front it looked closed, as I drove around I saw a sign that said use the back door. After being told to "come back later" earlier in the aftenoon at Osaka in Dillon, SC, I continued my trip up I-95 on Wednesday. A couple hours later, I saw the sign for Lily Spa and stopped by around 5:00. Greeted at the door by Bebe ("bee-bee?"). Looked late-30's / early 40's, great little frame with nice rack in skin tight outfit. High beams were on! After she asked me a few questions about being there before, she led me back to room. Waited as she talked on the phone for a few minutes while the water got hot. Nice, long TS with appropriate attention placed on the right area. Decent massage, focused mainly on shoulders and mid-back. I'm a rookie so I spent a little too much for the tip on the flip, but got to explore extensively so it was worth it.
