I definitely see the benefit of a monger phone, but at the same time, if your SO finds it, it is a dead giveaway. I stick with my one phone, and just clear out texts and phone messages religiously. Also, when I add numbers I alter them by one digit, so they cannot be called from contacts, they have to be manually dialed. Set the phone to not send your info when you call. If you have a girl you do trust to call you... be sure to set the ring tone to silent for her, and label it something like Todd Ash (for an Ashley) or Tiff From CompUSA.

Finally, I let my address book sync with my main list of business contacts and email list, that way my phone has hundreds of numbers and emails, including lame addresses, old addresses. If anybody tries to dig through my phone, they are going to have so many addresses I can explain easily that when they hit any I don't want to explain, it is easy to give cover.

That is what ties your phone number to your phone. The phone number is only to translate at the phone company itself. Now with that being said your ESN gets handed off from tower to tower as you drive around and it all goes back to the main exchange so that no matter where you are the phone company, IE your phone company knows were you are. Your phone number can be used to get your ESN and it can be "Triangulated" to pin point when and where you are (very much like a tracking device). The phone company also keeps records for 90 days of all calls and text's that you make, both to and from the phone in question. It is for billing purposes only (yeah right). But they do in fact know both the caller and the call-E. The do not, I REPEAT DO NOT, keep a record of the information in a text but do know the to and from, the time, date and size of the text itself.

Now try to explain the actual dialed/recieved calls " Manually " to your Uncle if he gets ahold of your or your favorite gal's phone. And as far as the SO finding it. You "gave a ride to a hobo the other day and he must have dropped it". Or "I found this down by the lake the other day", or if your real ballsy, "yeah b!t@h thats my phone, so what!" I dont recommend the last one by the way, but like is said on here all the time YMMV, lol.

Im not trying to knock any of my fellow mongers but the truth is the truth, and my brothers, especially the younger ones need to know the truth. Go by a cheap prepaid. Keep it hid and off when not using it. And report whats out there.

I have a family who works for a mobile company at corporate. This "triangulation" you speak of only gives a rough location. Anywhere between 200-500ft from where you're calling from, unless you have a more expensive phone with a real GPS chip. Some lower end phones has GPS chips, but they are hardly accurate and pinpoints you within 200ft radius.

Yes, the which towers your connected to is always recorded, but never location unless someone goes back and queries them.

If you're still concern, best thing to do is get into your car and drive to a random parking lot and make your calls from your monger phone.
