New Photo Gallery Feature.

Hi everyone,

I'm sure that if you reading this you've already had a test drive of the new photo gallery. I couldn't find one I liked, so I paid a programmer to write this one specifically for my websites.

There's a couple more improvements I'm paying to have made, but this version is ready to go, so I thought I'd just put it out there and get your comments.

I'm new to this site. I like the feature. If there was one thing I would do, it would be to make it searchable by location. But I like it the way it is also.

It is searchable by location, just change the sort parameter on the right side of the title bar.

Wow! Thanks for the photo gallery! That's WAY cool! And TOTALLY above and beyond that you paid a programmer to write the code for a custom version.

When I originally saw the announcement this morning, my initial reaction was very positive, but I also thought at the same time that the loads on your servers were going to increase 1000 times over. Turns out to be true -- now that the time is 3:00pm Eastern, and everyone across the USA is awake and surfing the net, I'm getting the "Server is too busy" message again, I'm sorry to say.

So, my comments for you regarding the photo gallery are these:

1) While I personally love the photo gallery, I think the textual content of this forum is truly its greatest asset, and I would hate to see the performance of the servers downgraded to a frustrating or non-functional level simply due to folks surfing porn they otherwise wouldn't look at since it all happens to be collected in one place now.

2) I don't pretend to know a whole lot about servers and all, but is this gallery going to cause your bandwidth bill to go thru the roof due to more easy and agressive hotlinking by other sites (in addition to the increased traffic already generated by the sites usual visitors)? I have no problem with porn on the net, but if a guy is hosting a porn site, he should pay his own bandwidth bill, not steal it from someone else. Can your gallery software watermark the photos somehow to make them less desirable with regard to theft? Should we mongers watermark the photos ourselves?

That's just my $0.02 so far... In any case, USASG is absolutely the best site on the net, period! Heartfelt thanks for all you do for us!

Absolutely, positively, brilliant! Stop right here, this is the way it should be. One click gets you the thumbnails, and you just click on the one's you want to see.

If I could change one thing, it would be to NOT have a separate window open up when you click on a picture. That must be helpful somehow, but it can be a bother.

I don't know much about the download robots problem, but I have no trouble using the most popular Firefox extension Flashgot to download all the pictures (along with other garbage) on the same page at one go. These extensions are designed for downloading all the pages at one go but need a bit more work from the users. Anyway, a slight modification will customize these extensions for WSG with little effort.

My suggestion is to provide some hint at the link level, such as the ID code of the picture, to allow software to decide whether it's a picture and where the region is. This help to download only the region one is interested, which should also reduce the server load. This is not difficult to be done the way it is now. Or a simple naming system so that the downloaded pictures can be easily sorted.

In the extreme, why not an WSG extension. It's not much work but it's like a WSG reader/client. With lots of options such as a small banner or none at all, to please everybody, but reducing server load.

I don't understand why I keep reading this same request over and over again. If you want to sort by area, then use the sort feature on the left side of the photo gallery's header to sort the photos list by forum, which is the geographical area.

Honestly, my work running this forum would be greatly reduced if everyone would just read the Forum FAQ and other instructions provided herein.

The photo gallery is a real improvement. My only comment is that it would be nice if when you clicked on "View Report" it would go directly to the associated report. In many cases it is impossible to link the photo diretly to a particular report.

How you manage to keep up with everything never ceases to amaze me. If I can ever get away from the warden for awhile I look forward to spending a week at the mansion. Actually, after five or six days you would have to ship me home in a box!)

I had kind of the same issue and found that one of two things occur

1. If the member is a senior member, the link stops just above the post, scrolling down takes me right to it. This might be something that could be fixed.

2. If the member is a regular member, the picture appears as soon as they make their post. Then because Jackson reviews all regular member posts, the post is delayed a bit.

Rule number 1 does have a great deal of merit, espeically with some of the "up close and personal" photos that are posted with a claim to having had sex with them. However, as a frequent photo contributor, I have violated that rule several times. I post photos of ladies in the areas I visit who are obviously in the business. I don't stop and have sex with all of them. Many I wouldn't want to have sex with, even if they were paying me.

Now will I stop posting photos? Unless Jackson tells me otherwise, the answer is "NO". The majority of the feedback on shots of the ladies on the street seems to be favorable and has helped other mongers. If you doubt that, take a look at the work of Ho_Chaser in the Tampa, FL. area boards. Even if we have not had sex with all the ladies, we have at least made an effort to find them and we have made no claim of having had sex with them either. Some of the street photos are a real "community" service. They show the runners and bad performers. They are a nice warning.

Fine line I'll admit, but if a photo helps a monger find a girl, then I think it is a service to them. Now for those 'mongers' who just post photos they have found on the Web or in a news group. I agree you have a valid point. But with several million photos of nude, semi-nude and clothed women floating around the internet, who is supposed to police this rule. When someone gets caught, report them to Jackson and maybe post their name in the appropriate group so others know to question the offenders posts. Just be ready to defend your position.

Unfortuneatly, the unscrupulous BS artists will continue to post and there isn't a lot anyone can do about it except report them when they are caught.

I do have shots of ladies I have had sex with. Attached are two from several years back. Place where I lived before I moved to South East VA had a better mongering situation. With the lady in pic #30, I replaced the white dildo shortly there after. She was an 8 on the regular woman scale with a 10 for service and personality.

The young lady in pic #91 was a ten on any scale.

The only drawbacks to both the ladies were they were crack heads and could not be trusted. No faces for their privacy as I have no idea what they are doing now days. The one in #91 went through rehab and I never saw her on the streets again and though she had my number, she never called me again. Maybe a happy ending.

The macro lense stuff is a bit abused. Maybe a warning label like "Gyno shot ahead" would help. A lot of these guys must have studied medical photography. Sometimes it is too much information.

But those who haven't got the inteligence to take a photo, say nothing to post one they took and then are afronted by a general statement about using other peoples work, now that is low. It works beautifully and allows members to view a comprehensive selection of photos for the entire USA without having to go IN AND OUT of each location to find them. A real improvement on this site!!!

Please don't OVER IMPROVE IT so that it develops "bugs" and becomes complex to work. You know how these software things tend to get overdone, until you'll need to put out a version called "Photo Gallery-lite" for the rest of us dimbulbs to operate it.

Next, I have on several occasions seen a photo that I was interested in and clicked on "View Report". I was immediately taken to the correct thread but the report that goes with the photo was not there. The photo was nowhere to be found in the thread. I tried searching by Member name and got a list of the member's posts, but NOT the one I was interested in. Any ideas as to this anomaly?

As you are probably aware , Regular Members' Posts are delayed for a bit until Jackson can review them

The purpose for this delay is to eliminate Spam from the site , and it has worked quite well

But when a Regular Member posts photos , they appear immediately on the Photo Gallery , while the written text accompanying them is delayed in the usual fashion

To read that 'missing' text , just check back later in the day , or the next day

The new photo gallery is an awesome addition to this forum. I think in the end it will save you bandwidth because people won't neccesarily look at every single pic and maybe only look at the ones that really interest them.

One suggestion : A goto page function would be useful. It seems one can only move forward or back one page at a time and there are @ 300 pages. That might also save you some bandwidth.

The only improvement I would like to see is the ability to view photos by city within state.

Need to be able to select a location (i.e, Utah or Salt Lake City). Otherwise you have to scroll through pages and pages before you get to the city you're interested in. At least that's what I would use it for.

Is it too much to ask you guys to look at the top of the page of pictures. On the right hand side there is a rather large "SORT BY DATE OR LOCATION".

And if your mouse would happen to drift that way you would see that you can even sort by NEWEST, FILE NAME, USER NAME, and EVEN FORUM NAME.

It is not perfect. But if you look around a little bit, it works. How much easier do you want it??

Wow, first post after a long time reader and it's about the site.

Oh well.

First of all, thanks for creating and maintaining a great site. Once I get some wheels I'll certainly contribute. I didn't call myself Bikezilla for nothing.

At any rate, I've noticed that all the pictures in the Photo Gallery are now 1x1 pixel gifs. No thumbnails, no attachments, no pictures.

Did I miss a post saying that only senior members can view pictures, or is there currently a problem that Jackson should know about?

Just use the sort function in the upper right side of the Photo Gallery to sort the photos by Forum Name, which is by city, state, etc.

I log on every other two days and scan thru the areas to see if any of my area has been active with jpegs..

Amish Made is clogging up the photo galley with pics that have nothing to do with sw's. That is a violation of the rules.

Pics on this site are all of women with whom you have engaged, it is obvious that Amish's pic do not display / show such actions taking place. Please dis-allow or hanidcap him from posting jpegs.

Why is it that if a Regualr Member attaches a photo to his report, the photo DOES appear immediately ?
