Are there any bars that are fun in town or kalihi better? Its sad all the bars closing down.The bars in the past in my opinion, the girls was more fun and your $ would stretch more, nowadays small talk give me a drink more small talk another drink, a hand on the lap another drink and so on. Too bad, I only can go out once in a while if I get some money to burn and play king for a few hours. My opinion I like to go GT, Eclipse, and 904 and maybe Kalihi Station in that order. I use to go to the other bars but since I only go out once in a while, I keep my options small in Kalihi. I may go elsewhere if someone mentions or recommends certain things going on in other bars.

How about Murphys Bar & Grill in downtown on Merchant St. ?Good choice on the downtown Irish corner. Suggest reservations or get down there early as Murph usually sells out. In that case the Gaelic steak is not a bad option. Wash it all down with a pint of Guinness stout followed by a heavy pour of Proper 12 Irish whisky. Guieb Cafe in Kalihi had a nice corned beef brisket plate with all the fixings which sold out rather quickly. No Guinness though. I'm just trying to find an establishment that is pouring green beer on Friday! Stay Safe gents. Sla'inte!

At my last stop there they had a squad of ajumma working there and no eye candy. Reminded me of the old Waterfall. Change may have to wait until after tax season. Stay Safe.

I agree that the bars in the past were more fun and much better. Today, most of the girls are only out for your money and do not really take care of you. I guess it depends on what you want out of your bar experience. If you are just into drinking and some free pupus, it is best to go to the bars early, like around 4:00 pm or so. If you want to play with the pretty girls, then you need to go out after 8:00 pm, but it is going to cost you. For me, I sometimes go early and on occasion I go later to see what the action is like.
Jayy has been around for years. Difficult to search the forum because of her bar name (I added a y). I would say she still looks good for a 45 year old, but her face is a little rounder now. Tall, athletic legs, great boobs. My experience is she is very touchy (your hand or your thigh), but will not get down to real play. Her loud laugh is also annoying. I am polite when I see her now, but I do not buy her drinks anymore. Your mileage may vary, though.

Did a cruise through a few Kalihi kbs. Starlite- Nice crowd of mostly house customers and karaoke. Lee mama and both past mamas looking well. Decent scenery. Honu- Smallish weekend crowd of house customers. Keiko mama & Kimi having a good time. Same scenery so nothing exciting. Wave- place was packed and bar full but not my crowd type. Pool tables busy. Cute bartender and very limited scenery. Green T- bar full, most tables taken. No shortage of kbgs. Def the place to go if you like the ladies. Good luck getting a seat at the bar. 904- felt like a baby in there except that the kbgs & house customers were the ones wearing the diapers. Connie mama was lone piece of scenery. Waterfall- dead, few bar customers, one table occupied, only kbg Melissa working. Looked slow, was slow. Nice guy Peter no longer bartender. No one at play with the grandmas in the dark side booths. 5-O- looked slow so didn't go in, save money. Stay Safe Gentlemen.

But it's going to cost big bucks somewhere around $500 each or in that neighborhood (or more). Much more affordable is just go to any bar and get a table (s) for the group. Pay as you go No Tab. Repeat. NoTab. Keep watch for your best man who wants to get crazy. Someone is going to be paying big bucks and getting nothing at the end of the night. He could be trouble or cause unfortunate drama.

The new owners and I guess us as customers screwed things up. Before the girls would sit with you, chat a little and maybe ask for a drink. Now the servers jist ask you, "need a girl?" It's been awhile since I was out and about. Past week hit Starlite, 5-O, and Green Tea. GT by far the busiest. All tables taken and a few bar stools empty. The bartenders were nice and attentive. Bobbie has been around for years and the other one (forget name) was displaying her fun bags nicely (she is mongolian). Moved to 5-O. Way fewer in there. Couple of older kbgs I remember from previous covid days, Donna and Brandy were pushing for drinkees. Moved on to Starlite. Ran into 3 prior kbgs I knew. Age has not really treated them kindly (of course who am I to complain). The mama Tina I think was her name was treating our table very nicely. Choke food and reciprocal drinks. Dropped some dollars there but I think it was close to being worth it because of all the food. Rankings for the night. Starlite for the food and friendly mama plus fun bags KBG Sunny was a nice view. GT cause the bartenders were so attentive and friendly. 5-O meh. Saw a couple of old friends had a few laughs and moved on.

Wow have not seen Auntie Bobby since pre-covid, good to hear she is still around. She has been one of Uncle's favorite Bartendresses for some 20+ years. She takes care of her regulars very well. It's been awhile since I was out and about. Past week hit Starlite, 5-O, and Green Tea. GT by far the busiest. All tables taken and a few bar stools empty. The bartenders were nice and attentive. Bobbie has been around for years and the other one (forget name) was displaying her fun bags nicely (she is mongolian). Moved to 5-O. Way fewer in there. Couple of older kbgs I remember from previous covid days, Donna and Brandy were pushing for drinkees. Moved on to Starlite. Ran into 3 prior kbgs I knew. Age has not really treated them kindly (of course who am I to complain). The mama Tina I think was her name was treating our table very nicely. Choke food and reciprocal drinks. Dropped some dollars there but I think it was close to being worth it because of all the food. Rankings for the night. Starlite for the food and friendly mama plus fun bags KBG Sunny was a nice view. GT cause the bartenders were so attentive and friendly. 5-O meh. Saw a couple of old friends had a few laughs and moved on.

Surprised it's kind of a slow night and I started late, I hit first bar around 730 p and first stop was Spotlite, for a big bar it was dead. The bar top was packed and maybe a few tables occupied looked like a birthday party. The two bartenders was not bad one look like in her late thirties long black hair with man made Dees, she had a nice black skirt with no ass. The other bartender look like she in her late 50's nice natural Dees and looking nice slim grey dress. I had a drink and left. On to Wave, I just took a peek, had some people playing pool tables, one male bartender but was pretty much dead. Looked in Soo Mii bar dead. Now at Vegas, it's dead slim pickings on the eye candy, I went to the back bar to have a drink, the mama carded me but I didn't mind she was looking good and mature LOL. The eye candy is better here than the rest so far. I may stay or maybe go to Aqua and Blue Star to end the night. I'm driving tonight so I'm not drinking heavy to be safe.

Just like the Slamma I made the rounds in Kalihi last night. Caught the end of Lakers victory at Lucky Honu. Bar full & a couple of booths occupied. Both Sara & Jessica mamas looking good. Damby best looking on the floor. Hit 5-0 next as the crowd started to leave post game. Friendly bartender wearing a hat busy behind the bar. Ujin, Donna & a tall slim kbg sitting at the end of the bar provided some scenery. Lilac was dead so didn't partake. Spotlite slow with both mamas showing off their curves. Was told their lease is up this summer. Haru & Gena were nice to look at. A kbg? W / a customer at the bar was very easy on the eyes too. Club 1010 fka Waterfall slow. Melissa & Sylvia bartenders to 7 then on the floor. New bar back working but can't replace Peter. 904 with only customers at the bar singing Karaoke. Connie mama always friendly. Sue bartender, Sean bar back. Kay, Hanna, kbg w / tats on the floor. Stay safe.

Here at Splash been here since 4:30 pm, 3 out of 4 bartenders looking good. Bar tops are half full, no introductions with the bartenders since their regulars are around, but they make sure I'm fed with snacks and my glass is full. I may move after a drink or two or if I run into GhostRecon LOL.

Story from Andy was the criminal walked into the bar as if he was looking for someone (more like something) and made his way to the back booth area. He ate some of food off one of the tables as if he was sitting there. Customers in nearby booths thought nothing of it. Guess the handbag was there at the table unattended so he made his move. Crime of opportunity. Was probably looking to swipe any cash left at the tables but hit the jackpot instead. Some of those designer handbags cost more than what's inside. Lesson: Don't leave anything you can't afford to lose at the table unattended. As a side bar one of the bar girls working there was terminated for stealing a customer’s wallet. Sign of the times. Going to miss those Sunday night troubadours led by David & Steve. Heard that the bar will tilt towards a "local style" theme. The end of KBs is coming? Just happen his brother was my boss on the neighbor island. The last couple of weeks we been roaming around and checking out some korean and vietnamese bars so just a quick review of the few places me and a few friends checked out lately. Feel free to add your two cents / comments to what we saw and our opinions:
CAMELOT. Saw the youngish looking skinny Korean bartender / hostess running around as usual. She's been here a while now. Think she goes in early to open. Also saw this one really HOT looking hostess, could definitely pass as a local asian girl as she didn't look pale skinned and had the ehu colored hair as well. When we could hear her speak she didn't have any accent that we could hear but she did speak Korean also when talking to the bartenders. Couldn't get her name or her attention as she was always busy when we went in there. Anyone got info on this one? Would definitely return to try her out.
BUSINESS. Definitely a few good looking ones in here and a few new and old faces walking around. We just drank a few and watched the TV while talking story. The best looking one in my opinion was the bartender, I think she said her name was Emily? No noticeable accent again, really friendly, and she had a tattoo on her back right shoulder that looked so familiar to me but I just couldn't place it. Like I have seen it someplace before.
SPLASH. Was kinda dead when we went in here. Saw the daytime bartender Kate there pretty drunk by then. Not many customers in there but there was a group of guys hanging out with this one girl by the bar. Noticed a few new faces to us, like this one who looked Japanese in my opinion. Talked story with the bartenders and relaxed.
VEGAS. Sounded like someone was celebrating a birthday with all the singing that was going on. Had one local hostess who was really drunk and just kept walking around looking like she was pissed at everyone so that was kinda entertaining. Had two other local looking hostess, one was almost Filipino looking, short with black hair. The other was the bartender. Really friendly and good service. Great body on this one and was grinding on a few lucky guys at the bar all night. Think I heard her name was Danika but not 100% sure. Definitely return for that one. Saw mama Sandra and had a few too.
OASIS. Hope I got the name of this bar right? It's right across the parking lot of Vegas. Small place with a few girls. Karaoke blasting to the max and just our luck the only seats available was right by the speakers. Got out of there pretty fast cause couldn't hear a damn thing and my ears were ringing but may consider a future stop.
SECRET. As usual, all the girls rushed to us one at a time trying to get some drinks. My friend bought a few drinks for Samantha. Really skinny with what looked like kinda blonde hair. Decent looking body. Everyone else busy or we just wasn't feeling it.
TA STATION. Guess it was someone's birthday cause the girls were all dressed up in leather costumes. Lots of T&A being shown. Drank a few, talked to some of the girls but everyone was running around. It was a busy night.
HAWAII BY NIGHT. Right next to TA Station. Decent sized bar. Lots of girls, all coming to us one after another. Noticed a lot of girls going with guys to the booths way in the back of the bar or disappearing behind the curtain. We took a few girls to those back booths also. Kelly, Mina (I think), Lucy, and this one girl with big fakes.
Overall a couple of good weeks and good nights. Good to get out and relax with the boys now and then.

We left SP at half time (nothing fun to report) and visited B2V where we eventually saw more talent. Smooth talking, young, local chicks with game hit us up. I got the small one's name (Brooke) and we bought them a few. All three looked sexy ... and very young. We had dinner plans so did not invest a lot of time and effort. My pal got annoyed with them after awhile, honestly. We do not know if they play, so please don't ask me.

How is the new Waterfall? I heard's not like before and prices went up. $40 drinks and most of the girls are no longer there?Renamed as Club 1010. They open early AM and now serving breakfast. Honestly it's better at McDonalds or at The Original Pancake House down the street except no beers or Bloody Marys there. Lady barkeeps report before noon so something to look at. No longer 2 for $5 domestics happy hour prices. Lady drinks $20, or $40 for green bottles so same as other KBs. Don't waste your time /$ looking for kbgs there at night aside from Melissa and Sylvia who also bartend but you can sit with the mamas if you like. There are a few relics who stayed on staff to continue to work the “dark side” (rub and tug) and they have their regulars. Generally a safe place to chill and watch the game due to a good array of large flat screens. And if you’re interested Karaoke is available after the game. Stay Safe

Anyone with any new reports? Checked out Vegas recently and think I saw these young ones that were mentioned before. One had a dark tan and could pass as Filipino looking if I didn't know any better. Nice strong looking legs but was busy the whole time.
Also checked out Business. Very hard to get any girls attention in this place I think unless you are already a established customer or korean. If you're a newbie to the bar, they don't know you, or don't look asian, can't really get the girls attention to come and sit and buy them a drink possibly which isn't always a bad thing. Anyone out there have any comments on this or advice?
There was one girl with light brown, pretty much blonde hair that looked good. Still think the bartender Emily is the best looking girl in there but can't get her attention when she is working the floor and not behind the bar. She's either busy in a booth or spacing out playing on her phone, guess waiting for a familiar face.

In the basement there's Misty Blue. Mama is curvaceous, kitchen mama is a character and bartender Liz is the main attraction on weekends. Next is Sunflower run by 3 mamas but I've only met Sally & Jennie. Golfers, house customers, karaoke & many TVs to watch a game. Kitchen is decent. Next is karaoke bar Hangry Mama. Just go there to drink and sing. On the corner is Acacia. Pretty mama used to work at Destiny now Sunflower. Largest selection of kbgs there tho age range is def mature side of 40-60's which is the case for all the kbs there. Last stop is Uncle Troy's around the corner from Acacia. Local style karaoke bar staffed by local ladies. Aside from the weekend, bars are not open every week night and will close early when it's slow. Lastly you may see several chronics hanging out in the dark as you drive down to the basement parking lot. Not sure if they're high, selling, pimping, homeless or all of the above. Anyone been out lately? Been staying mostly in town now days, in the Business / Secret / Camelot / Splash area. Not much more choices in that area. Already wrote in the vietnamese bar thread about Secret. Splash same old thing. Hung out with Jae and Momi a few times. Didn't spend much but cool to hang with. Saw some interesting prospects in there but save $$ for another time. Business same old. Guess we not good enough for anyone but still cool to drink a few and take in the eye candy running around. Camelot saw two interesting prospects. One was on the skinnier side with a darker tan. Could pass as local I guess. Other was a typical younger looking kgirl with the pale skin but she was really curvy. Long straight black hair. Then had one older looking girl. Definitely nice to look at.

Most of Kou and Kokea will be demolished and Muli unit housing and businesses will be built. I'd say about 10 to 14 bars will be closed within 5 years.

There were more than 100 bars on Oahu in the mid to late 70's. Night clubs open till 4 am, KB, Viet, Japanese bars, great free pupu's, cheap food and drink. Mama used to serve us free food, sashimi etc. Bars had lots of young good looking girls. Since legal drink age went up and lots of DUI check points and aged out customers and woman bars are a dying business, it's like the cycle of live. Business environments changeover time I will enjoy it as much as I can. Woman have passed away, quit, moved away and or retired.

When Walmart went in we lost several bars and the decline began. Covid was the dagger to the heart of an already declining industry. As the girls moved up economically they got out of the business so what was left were aging Korean gilfs. Viet bars made a minor revival but again covid banged on them. Thai same. Rail is going to kill off some Kalihi bars so your 5 year schedule 70 about right. Ah the good old days, bars and AMPs everywhere with hot young women. Gone but not forgotten.

Mama Sandra and a lot of the girls all went to Camelot so don't know where those local looking ones are now days. So yea, Vegas is empty and when I walked by Camelot, it looked busy. Maybe the, congrats on the new bar early rush and it will die down soon but who knows.

Unfortunately, some factors got to be in your favor to score: looks, manners, personality, humor, and the respect you give and get. Money is the object but how you spend it is as important as how much, as they say. It's all a game and BS in the KBs; need to have that perspective in order to survive, IMO. Good luck, gentlemen.

Haven't been in Business for ages, pre-Covid times. Business parking lot full, must be because of the restaurant next door. Place is more lighted than the old days with less booths. Sushi bar on Kapiolani side of bar was around half full with customers. Regular bar when I arrive had 1-2 customers, when I left had more people sitting at counter. Beer $4. Girls drink $20 for neko, $40 for beer / shots. Girl said still have kitchen mama and food but didn't check out the menu. The girl I sat with was around 30, might try go one more time to see if can negotiate or get action, if not will move on.

Some bars hanged owners in 2022 and 23. They say businesses need to have opened before 2022. $10 K is not enough money for all the losses all businesses lost. I never use Dillingham anymore too much construction material on roads like nails. I know 2 people that got nails in tires on Dillingham.

Pink lights in the recessed fixtures, swapped the booths from a blue to red color and angled the toilet for a more comfortable shitting the experience. Food was standard grand opening fare. Didn't recognize any of the ladies so must all be from town. I'll go back on a slow day to check it again.

Not sure if it will be a soft opening but she's excited about her new venture. I have no intel as to what GT staff will be staying on or carrying over from Wave / Kalihi Station. When the failed Rail project come into the are (IF). The city is losing so much money Mayor after Mayor, Gov after Gov, Senators and City Council have failed our tax payers. No solutions for homeless, affordable housing, cost of living etc. Rail will raise fees to all tax payers and the connected real estate tycoons will get richer and richer. More locals will relocate to mainland being priced out of Paradise for $$ Bar guys like us have less choices look at all the bars that have closed and redeveloped.
I've gone past the Old Platinum bar after it opened with the new owners and the parking lot is always full even along the side of the building. Heard they bought out the business next door so it's larger than the old place. Not sure what business they took over I know there used to be a beauty salon close by. Anyone gone there since the new opening / owner Nikki took over and does she have a business partner? Give us a scouting report.

Hostess bar scene seems to be dying down slowly. If you got a different opinion then please discuss. Cruising around lately, mostly in town but a few stops in Kalihi. Seems emptier then before and the girls seem to be getting older or not into service and seem to want to look at their phones instead of talking to customers. Probably waiting for established customers that they know will spend money.
Checked out Kalihi side. Vegas is dead ever since mama jumped shop to Camelot. Green Tee decent but nothing to get excited about lately. Honu seems full a lot but eh.
Back in town, Business decent but seems more like the big spenders show up and everyone disappears into private rooms and the bar just looks empty. Decent lookers but more looking at their phone then anything else. VB's dead. Splash bartop half empty and only one booth full. Camelot seemed to be the busiest since mama from Vegas went there and took a lot of girls there too. Busy the few times we went.
Am I missing something or going to the wrong bars? Oh well, that was just my two cents.

I knew one guy who used to clean KBs and gathered empty beer and liquor drips in one can; go in the kitchen to find discarded food (he once was one successful painting contractor and big spender before the drugs / booze got to him); he stay expired already. Ended up hitting the other 3 places across the parking lot. Lilac & 5-0 were very slow. Honu was mildly busy with the usual staff in place. Jessica mama, Jessie & Yuki at the bar, Cindy and a few others on the floor. Passed on Vegas & Eclipse. Parking lots at Golden Tree, 1010 were empty so didn't bother. Bday party at 904 tonight and Green Tee reopening, both superspreader events LOL. Stay safe this weekend gentlemen.

Got there and the food was gone. Fuck. Some familiar faces and a couple new ones. Not as packed as I thought it would be on opening night. I did reach there around 10:30. Noticed Golden Tree closed and 1010 open but no cars outside while heading to Green Tee. Official grand opening is the 18th and 19th.
Stopped by a few days ago. Place looked to be the same size. I did notice they took out the pool table and added a few more booths.Mmmm so I guess someone gave me the wrong info. They said they added another space next door. I drove by last night and it was packed, no parking. I guess Kalihi is the only water holes. Be careful guys heard last week a coward punched out a girl at Spot Lite knocked her to the ground and drove off. Heard he was drinking with a friend named MR. "D" that works at Lexus Hawaii. He was local about 5' 6 to 5'8" salt and pepper hair and has a facial hair. Mr. "D" and this coward drink regularly in Kalihi. Heard the girl required medial attention and Police report was made so its a Felony Assault - 2 which means up to 10 yrs in prison, fine. Hope his is caught and he can drink all he wants behind bars. What a coward to hit a woman he doesn't even know and his friend never checked in the injured person so he can be charged too. More than like a detective will pay him a visit at Lexus, that will not be good for him. The girl now there faces and there was video recordings so it maybe a matter of time. When bars get crowded and the alcohol is flowing like the old days there will be more and more fights. Be careful guys.

Hard for turn one $100 K profit per year; usually owning one KB is one front for criminal events (money laundering, etc.) and one wahine vanity run. Maybe the KB was once used as one outlet for alleged overseas criminal activities.

Anyways, the older female waitress still just cracks me up.
