Hi everybody. Somebody has to make the first post here, so it might as well be me.
On one of the nice days last week, took a cruise through my normal Schenectady hunting grounds. Saw at leaset 4 or 5 girls working during the daylight hours, around 6-8 PM. After it got dark, the cops came out all over the place and the girls seemed to vanish. I saw at least 4 different police cars during that time. I left quickly after that, so I have no idea how the late night scene is looking right now.
Things are a little too crazy for me, so I'm still staying away for the time being. Anybody have any luck lately?

A quick update: I haven't been able to hook up with Jen again yet. I've gone to the address she's given me a couple of times, but there are always a group of shady characters hanging out there. Here's what I've seen in the last couple of months, though I have to admit, I didn't sample anything.
Troy- There seems to be a slight increase in activity as of late though the pickings look pretty slim for the most part. There was a tall and attractive hispanic girl (5'6") who was around who was definately looking for a date. This was about a month ago and I 've only seen her that once. Schenectady- I went for a Sunday drive to see what was going on in the Electric City. It looked unbelievably dead on every level. It looks like even a couple of the old strip clubs have finally been chased out? I went up State and Albany Streets and a couple of side streets. The only even slightly possible girl out was fairly attractive (7). She had medium length brunette hair, straight, decent face with I think dark green pants on. She was about 5'5". Albany- Again, either people come and go or I'm just not enough of a regular viewer to see any trends. Last week a rather tall and somewhat attractive girl was on Central and I stopped at a corner store there. She had sort of a "goth" look with dyed black hair. She looked young though and I had to wonder if she was over 18. Seemed nice enough. FYI, there is a rather tall hispanic "girl" around central and quail who is not a girl. It's not hard to tell really. Usually has her hair up in a bun or something. On lower clinton last Sunday there was a girl walking up who had like 9 inch heels and black pants. Nice face and nice legs. I've seen her hanging around on the worse end of Lark going off Clinton before hanging with the brothers. Long dark hair. She's maybe 25-28 or so. She was extremely drunk and I might have indulged if it weren't for worrying about her "hurling" in the car. She wanted 5 bucks from me and then said she just wanted a ride to Lark because she was drunk. Tempting but not that tempting.
For anyone visiting town you might as well forget the lingerie shops unless you have serious masochistic tendencies. From everything that I can tell, or have ever seen posted anywhere these are a giant waste of time and money. If someone knows differently I'd be glad to know about it. Maybe if you really blow a lot of money over time in one of the strip clubs you can hookup but again, is it really worth it?

I personally can only speak about Schenectady. SW activity runs very hot/cold, with little reliability. You might see it totally dead, or you might see 4 or 5 girls working. I think most girls just hit the streets when they need a little extra cash, and aren't out there with any regularity. Quality varies wildly as well. Most girls are probably in the 3-5 range, although there are some cuties to be had if you get lucky (I've been pretty lucky that way lately).

Yes, everything in this area is very hot and cold, actually lukewarm and then cold. I think if you were just taking a shot in the dark, I'd try albany for a possible chance at something a bit better than what you'd find in troy or schenectady. Additionally, I think Schenectady's more violent for the most part.

Stoner: No AMP's in Albany area. I would say Hudson would be the slimist pickings. Either try Albany Street (Hamilton Hill area) in Schenectady or 3rd/4th Street between Congress and Fulton in Troy, or 400-700 block of Central Ave in Albany. Nothing to good around here- I much prefer Ct.
The action on Cental Ave was weak at 7pm but picked up at 11pm. All the 4 ladies I saw were ugly thou.

You can usually find the SW's anywhere up and down State and Albany streets and all the connecting roads inbetween. I usually don't bother going past Nott Terrace to the west or S.Elm to the East.
I'd say the SW's in Schenectady are about 75% crackheads. The rest seem to be normal girls who are down on their luck and need to make some cash . I would say that both Maggie and Patty could do some escorting, but I highly doubt that either one of them has a vehicle or a nice enough pad.
I'm not sure it's worth driving a long distance for this type of action, but there's a chance you may end up finding that diamond in the rough. Good luck.

Indeed, it is very difficult to find the "happy median" between providing fellow hobbiers information while not making LE's job too easy. Since an AMP in this area is probably the biggest hobbiest news to hit Albany, I guess we should just try to refrain from, what might come across to LE, as gloating. Constant exposure and chatter of said premise would only ignite the vice.

Note: As of Jan 1st, a couple casino's opened up downtown NF (Niagara Falls convention center)- could be worth looking there; otherwise, go across the bridge and into Canada (bring birth certificate or passport). I understand that is worth the drive. I'm not experienced over in Ontario Province but I know Quebec and British Columbia serve up a fine dish.

Gonefishing, my TU didn't have the same info as yours about the arrests. I guess they localize them. Did it have any details? I never saw nine out at once. The streets were quiet but when I went by Aquarius it was full of cars. My TU had a quality of life article and mentioned the neighbors of some of the little grocery stores have been complaining about people hanging around them.
Any details on the John stings?

SCHENECTADY - Two dozen alleged prostitutes and patrons were arrested last week in two sweeps aimed at putting a dent in the city's sex-for-sale trade, police said.
The sweeps - which took place on Thursday and Friday - focused on the Hamilton Hill and Central State Street neighborhoods. Police released the information Monday.
"This is an ongoing problem and it negatively affects the quality of life in those neighborhoods and we want to target it," said Lt. Peter Frisoni.

How far from Albany?
pittsfield is 45-60 min east of albany depending on your driving style :-)
take 90 east to exit 11b (route 20 east). be careful in nassau ny, its a well known speed trap. 20 takes you right into downtown pittsfield - 4-5 miles after you cross the mountain. look for signs for route 7 north, you'll take a left turn off of 20.... route 7 in the center of town is 'north street' (our main street) and about a half mile north of the rotary at the center of town is where the stroll i described begins.

Fair Warning,
JimmyDR and others: another bust on SW's in Schenectady Thursday in Schenectady according to the Times Union. They only nailed three because most of the originals from the March bust are still serving time (they apparently got 60 day sentences). Also,
after the SW bust in March, they nailed approx. ten johns on a sting. New chief means business. Too bad the city leaders don't show as much resolve in fixing all the rest of Schenectady's problems. Troy is about the only safe place left.

However, from reading news articles and from conversations with a city employee, I do know that SW/john sweeps are not uncommon in Albany. Troy, on the other hand, appears to "look the other way" and does have some acceptable servicers walking about. IMHO.

SCHENECTADY - Seven men were arrested for patronizing a prostitute late Friday night as city police officers participated in a sting operation.

Schenectady residents arrested were: Jose Sanchez, 17; Nestor Torres, 34; Jonathan Hodder, 22; Michael Bejian, 56; Lewis Sisco, 32; and Seifeldawla Dirar, 49. Also charged was Stephen Roddy, 36, of Scotia.
Sanchez was also charged with possession of marijuana and resisting arrest. Roddy was additionally charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. The men are to answer the charges in Schenectady City Court.
Again,
Don't solicitate any SW on the street. Better yet, don't talk to anybody at all on the street. No discussion of service and prices till you grab their boobs and pussy. This way you never get caught. No undercover police women are that dedicated.

Troy-Albany Cruise 7/9-10
Into Troy shortly after 23:00. Not much going on. I did see a couple of the regulars about, but nobody I wanted to pick up. LE prescence was moderate.
Headed down to Albany around 00:30. Not much going on there, either. Saw 1 slim brunette on Central & Lark. Slow night, considering the good weather. Am I missing some side streets here fellas???

Investigators learned females advertising in the Metroland newspaper were using a warehouse on North Pearl Street in Albany to meet their clients.
Undercover authorities arrested five people involved in the operation.
They face various prostitution-related charges and will be arraigned at a later date."

ALBANY, N.Y., July 25 - Police have shut down what some customers might have called "The Best Little Warehouse in Albany." The say a high-priced prostitution business was being run out of a building at 450 North Pearl St. in Albany. However, authorities say this was not an ordinary, run of the mill prostitution ring.
OFFICIALS SAY THE expensive prostitutes were having sex there at all times of the day and night.
Dianna Welyczko, 18, of Troy, Melanie Jerrils, 30, of Colonie are accused of prostitution. They're part of a group allegedly working out of the warehouse.
"They were up to the $200 to $300 range. They were basically good looking girls, and they demanded a lot more money than your typical crack, street prostitute," said Albany County Sheriff's Department Inspector John Burke.
Undercover officers answered ads in Metroland. Officials say they set up meetings at the warehouse, where partitions divide the space into more than 20 rooms.
The building was also used for rehearsals for musicians.
"The act was being committed in a little tiny cubicle while ten bands were practicing their music," Burke said. "It must have been a noisy act."
And cramped. The cubicle was furnished with just a tiny table.
Ronald Machado and Thomas Clements of Watervliet were also arrested. Authorities say they delivered the women and collected the money.
Inside the warehouse, the workingwomen had their own bodyguard. Officials say these prostitutes were unusual, both in price range and in background.
"They came from good areas, good homes. I guess they just wanted a quick dollar," Burke said. "We seized like $800 off of one of the girls that she made that day. It was mid-afternoon. She had already made $800."
Officials say the women wanted $200 for the act and a $100 tip.
The building is now padlocked. Code enforcement found a number of fire and safety violations.

According to one news channel, there's been a "cleanup" operation going on in Troy the last few days. Apparently 40 some people have been arrested and they are continuing the operation through the weekend. The busts are targeting prostitution as well.

A Niskayuna man is facing several charges after holding two escort service employees against their will.
Police said 29-year-old Johnny Boey faces several charges after investigators said he hired two women to perform at his house, but became dissatisfied with what they provided.
Authorities confirmed Boey took back the fee and other money the women had on them by threatening them with a hunting knife and rifle. The women were not harmed.
Boey was arraigned and ordered held on $50,000 cash bail.

Arrived in Schenectady around 23:30 and things were decidedly busier than I've seen in the recent past. There were maybe a half-dozen SW on the loop. 2 brunettes I had not seen out before, one with glasses and a leather-type coat. The other brunette caught my eye, looking to be a 6-7. Wore a light-blue, fitted jacket, but I lost her as she headed downtown into the stockade. She had been sitting on the steps of the car dealer on State.

Hey Joe. Speaking for Schenectady, I can tell you that SW activity starts picking up pretty much as soon as it gets dark out. Things seem to start slowing down about the time you first got to Schenectady, around 11:30 or 12:00. Day of the week seems to be a pretty big factor, too.

I know things used to pick up after 1am, as the LE shift change was midnight, and by 0100 they'd be settled into their routines. Also, at least as recently as 2001, there was a bustling trade going on after sundown, presumably mongers on their way home.
More recently, there's been less of an uptick in the 0100-0200 time frame, and I really hadn't been seeing much after 11:30.

I suggest you post your request both there and on the NY Other sections. I hope you will have a car since there will be very little in the immediate area.

Hello all. I have been lurking here for quite some time and I figured it's about time I began to contribute to the cause, or our mutual hobby you might say.
I spend most of my time in Albany but do try Troy and Schenectady from time to time. Albany is always good for me between 1:30am and 3am most nights.
I was in Schenectady 10/29 about 6pm, hoping the time change would help as it gets darker earlier. Yup, met Naomi that evening, gave her $20 for bbbj, but no pop in the mouth(as someone earlier stated).

Arrived in Schenectady around 11:30 on Thursday night. Since the temp was a balmy 18 degrees, I didn't expect to see much action. Unfortunately, my suspicions were confirmed.
I did see 1 older BSW on State near Dunkin Donuts, but that was pretty much it for the night. LE prescence was nearly non-existent, until after 01:30.
Around 00:30, I decided to take a quick zip over to Troy, seeing only the heavy WSW with glasses and short, brown hair. Not my thing.
Back to Schenctady around 01:30, where the street were pretty dead. Then, by chance, I saw a blond headed away from Albany St. on one of the side streets. I've been reluctant to cruise lately, given my lack of available time and the nasty temperatures. Decided to chance it Tuesday night. To my pleasant surprise, there seems to be an uptick in activity in Schenectady, if last night is any indication.
On my arrival around 23:00, there were 3-4 SWs in the usual areas (State near Brandywine). About an even split, black and white. One very nice looking BSW, but she disappeared while I came around for another look. Ditto for a WSW with reddish brown shoulder-length hair.

Twice in one week! I must be on a roll. Thursday night saw much of the same activity as my previous report.
