I read Magik's report about LE in Boston using this board to guide them to where to find mongers and hookers.
IMHO, anyone who believes that LE is not using this and other boards like it as a source of data is sadly mistaken.
Again, it's only my humble opinion but I believe that as mature responsible gentlemen we can provide each other with invaluable information without stirring up the heat of an LE probe or sting.
All of the recent posts about a very popular provider having moved to a place in Santa Monica is bound to catch the attention of LE.
I'd be much happier (if anyone cares about my happiness) if we found ways to help each other without being so specific and public with the information.

I have been following this thread for over six months and just got upgraded so I can finally post. I take the opportunnity to thank the regular gang for the invaluable info they provide on this forum. Being from Europe where concensual "play" between adults for a tip is considered healthy and normal, I found SM to be pretty boring until I discovered this thread. There is indeed plenty of action in the AMP scene and I have to admit that there is an additional thrill in not knowing what you will manage to get at each visit. Is that common on other areas?

I followed up on the report of closures and I am happy to confirm that Gold, Ocean, and Oriental are running OPEN signs and apparently seems to be in business. I did not go in, just drove by after reading the relevant post. I drove by on Saturday night and the places seemed to operate although they did not seem particularly busy at around 6:30.

Jan 28 - A police raid on a massage parlor in the Pico Neighborhood resulted in two employees being charged with prostitution.

Santa Monica undercover officers visited the Tokyo Health Studio, 817 Pico Blvd., on Jan. 21 to investigate complaints of profligate behavior at the site. A little after 6:30 p.m., a male undercover officer visited the establishment and asked for a massage.

After the more traditional physical therapy was completed, he was taken to a back room where the masseuse displayed her genitals and suggested sex in exchange for additional money.

The officer then signaled waiting investigators, and they raided the joint.

As the men entered, a second employee tried to block their progress to the back room, grabbing officers' arms as they passed.

Two women were arrested as a result of the investigation.

The suspect in the back room, Kyung Kim, 34, Asian, of Los Angeles was booked for prostitution, and violation of section 6.104.110 of the Santa Monica Municipal Code which states that "No massage technician shall, while performing any massage or associated task, expose his or her genitals, buttocks, or, in the case of a female, her breast(s)." Her bail was set at $2000.

The second woman was identified as Sang Wynkoe, 50, Asian, also of Los Angeles. She was charged with obstructing an officer in the pursuit of his duty, running a house of ill repute and aiding or assisting another in the act of prostitution. Her bail was set at $10,000.

The business is owned by Steven R. Fantz and, as of this afternoon, it is still in operation. An employee with a heavy Asian accent told a Gazette reporter that massages are $50 apiece and no "specialties" are offered.

You do have to realize that there is true, and untrue information out there, and somewhere inbetween is the real story. Yes, there are "busts" all the time. As some of you know, I have changed my tune a little about posting detailed info. directly on the forum, especially given the recent crackdowns in Inglewood and SM. However, in response to somebody who came down on a monger who posted the phone number and address of a joint in OC, I provided the following counter-response. I just thought you who know me from this board (or hate me) might be interested in the topic:

"You can get that information [posted by the monger] out of the newspaper, and most people don't have enough descretion to screen for LE in PM. I personally [now] only give out info to mongers I know are not LE in PM, and I can never be 100% sure that they are not LE, or that they have not gotten busted and have turned State's witness on us.

I don't agree with the post either, but relize that while LE may use this to find places, it is up to the message parlors/providers to do their own screening, as these posts are inadmissible heresay, and the cops still have to use undercover or direct testimony from those who have been solicited or busted customers who turn State's to prosecute a case."

At the risk of pissing everyone off I think that cheapskate is making a mistake in posting those pics on a public board.
I certainly think that both of those ladies are lovely and I certainly liked seeing them, but my paranoia just comes jumping out of my skin when I wonder what all the LE people who read this board daily think about them.
I think that stuff like this just invites the heat into Santa Monica. The busts/raids have been increasing and information like this just makes it easier for them.
Perhaps, sharing this information through PM's might be a bit more discrete and safe for all involved.

This is a tricky situation for us all. Seriously, we all want to be discrete while mongering. Yet, we all want to share the bounty of our adventures. We all must find a common ground.

Like Shark, I too am now inspired to take pics in the amps. However, like Jassluvr, I know this is a dangerous game to play on the wsg. Perhaps, we should take most pics for our own pesonal enjoyment and only post the very vauge shots online. No faces, or explict penetration. Also, posting pics w/out provider names or locations will frustrate LE which is great.

At the same time lets use the PM feature to relate the intimate details amongst ourselves on the down lo. If ya see a posted pic YOU like PM the poster and, if YOU know him, ask for the pertinent intel. This way we all win. We still get to see hot, naked latinas & asians w/out worrying that our hobby has been compromised.

I think that the posting of pictures does not add any more information for LE from what is already available. If a newbie to the sport (like myself) can figure out what is where and who is who then the pictures make no more difference (unless of course there is a clit lineup). As a matter of fact, with the removal of the background from these pics they could appear like all any other pics on an amateur porn site. So stop the paranoia and keep the eye candy coming.

I am still a bit paranoid myself about the ID part (do not like to leave traces of where I have been) but slowly getting over it. I do not think that the ID makes a difference in spotting LE since they can get DLs with anything on it.

I understand what you are saying, and I think it indicates more of a frustration about the crackdowns and LE. They definately are hurting our hobby, albeit the view it as their job, and making many of us very hesitant to cause more problems for joints and providers we like by posting good info.

The intent of these boards, at lest for me, is to trade good information, and keep us mongers from using ROBs. A wise person would have already gotten the vaccination sequence if you were exposing yourself to greater risk of STD and other medical issues.

Hepatitis B as well as Herpes can be contracted, even with the use of a condom, due to the nature of the disease in question.

Get yourself the Hep B vaccination series if you want to be "safer".

That said, Ginja and the other nicer places are pretty well monitored by the managers for any girls with communicable diseases. Nothing would ruin business faster if word got out that their girls were spreading something. This is one of the reasons why all the Korean places insist on condoms (Shark in OC's stuff in Inglewood being an exception, not the rule), even including oral favors.

The girls themselves don't want to catch anything nasty, that might prevent them from going on to marry some guy when/if they retire. A few wind up staying in the business and moving down the desirability track, and even fewer wind up as managers themselves.

In South Korea, only Koreans can get away in going without condoms, usually. This doesn't seem to help that much, given the fact that the HPV infection rate is high enough to probably be the cause of much of the sterility and fertility problems in adults between the age of 25 and 40 now.

You can go without a condom in China, but reading the China section should warn you off from that. More than one fellow has posted about going down town to find a host of infections in the visual inspection.

Anyways, to help minimize things, be sure to get a table shower at any place you go to, if you can. Getting thoroughly scrubbed will help get more attention from a masseuse, as well as getting you clean.

Getting a table shower after or a shower after instead of before, can work in your favor as well.

Note that some places aren't really strict on swapping out towels/sheets between clients. The places that are more "legit" tend to be pretty good about that, but I was always leery of the fact that the Ginja girls seemed to just straighten out the towel rather than change it.

You would hope that the towels on the bed got changed between clients, but I was never there long enough to witness it.

Gotta say I agree. Naming names and addresses just causes way more problems than the benefits. And the supposed benefit (of allowing mongers to go right to the "best" providers) is pretty watered down by the YMMV factor, the fact that schedules change and some of them even use multiple names.

I cut my mongering teeth in Santa Monica in the late 70's, and several of those places are still in business today! Whatever you might dislike about The Republic of Santa Monica...their liberal approach has allowed low key action to continue. And you can enjoy it in a less crime ridden atmosphere than Inglewood.

Just a memory that illustrates the point: when I started massages were $10 and tips likewise. Full service was basically non-existent, but you could get a BBBJTC everywhere. Early 80's I remember listening to a SM City Council meeting (live on KCRW) and they were discussing massage parlors, openly acknowledging they were "adult" businesses and debating whether they should require condoms for those businesses, LOL...swear to God! Well, they didn't start mandating condoms, but the parlors were required to start checking IDs and keeping records, but most spots didn't care if you signed legibly or what you wrote. And most places started adding FS to the menus.

BTW, searching the official SM City website will reveal all the licensed massage establishments, including the names and ages of all the registered massueses, owners etc. Using Infospace or any online yellow pages will find all the parlors that you could otherwise find by using the phone book. Easy. Let's keep it that way. Kiss and tell, but keep it on the down low, LOL. Too many details just rubs police's nose in it and provides some "what about the children?" do-gooder the ammo to stand up in a City Council meeting and demand a clean up.

There was an interesting article in the english language version of the Joong Ang Daily News (I think I got the spelling right), where they quoted statistics about HPV infection that is affecting adult fertitlity. I think they were saying something like 28% infertitlity rate in women (not prostitutes) who were unknowingly infected by their partners. Men's rate was higher. It was also pointed out that often the infection would resolve itself and all that would remain is scar tissue/damage that would prevent fertility.

One statistic that was popped in there in another article about the RLD shutdown had to do with the number of Korean men who have visited prostitutes. It was stated at being nearly 50%.

Also, perhaps what you're saying and what I'm saying isn't in conflict. The way I was told was

"1 in four is a CARRIER" or words to that effect, rather than "chronically infected" as stated in your quote. I'm sorry if I wasn't clear enough in my OP on the matter.

A Korean friend told me of his family situation, where one uncle has died of Hep B, and another was ailing. A third was infected but not showing. There were a total of 6 uncles to start.

Obviously, that's not a proper sampling, but you get the idea.

So, just like anyting you read on the internet, YMMV. This isn't exactly a low risk situation people are writing about on these message boards. Getting a Hep B vaccination isn't a bad start, given that's all that's out there right now that's not in experimental studies (HIV vaccine tests in Thailand).

I am in this area generally more than any other in LA and I remember a few years back this place was just flooded with SW's. Unfortunately for me this was my pre-mongering days and so I just was a casual observer.

There is one place in OC that has white girls. However, some of the old-timers whould recall that LE used to try to pull this stunt where they would close down an AMP, take it over, and re-open it and re-staff it with undercover women cops to catch the johns. Problems is, there are not too many fresh-off-the boat or accross-the-boarder Korean or Hispanic chicks on the PD. Hundreds of federal and local law enforcement agents arrested suspects in an operation targeting an alleged immigrant smuggling ring Thursday night, officials said.

The operation was carried out in Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Anaheim and other cities by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and local law enforcement, said Thom Mrozek, spokesman for the U.S. attorney's office in Los Angeles. More than three dozen search warrants were served.

It was unclear how many arrests were made in the operation, which began Thursday evening, Mrozek said.

A second law enforcement operation was under way in San Francisco in a separate case, he said.

Authorities were scheduled to make an announcement Friday afternoon about arrests at San Francisco massage parlors, said Luke Macaulay, another spokesman for the U.S. attorney's office.

Further details were not immediately available.

The place where Chanel used to work in SM closed about three weeks ago, perhaps because the management got wind of this development, although many attributed it to recent SMPD pressure. I know three downtown places (Seven, Union, and Magic Thai) were closed down over the weekend. Appears as if the target was not prostitution, as much as smuggling. I suspect that many of the detentions were for INS violations, since proof of the prostitution charges is very difficult. Actually, the guy had a heart attack before anything good even got started. the girl called in to the mama san who did not get the guy his heart medication. apparently the girl, the mamasan and the establishment are being sued for wrongful death. His came from a girl who knows the girl (lent her money for legal expenses) that was seeing that guy. So it was the best teasing he ever got. Stopped in Ginja last Thursday for a quick HJ after work. I've been a little off that place, preferring another SM establishment, which I'll keep to myself: -), who's ladies give a bit more of a GFE. SM MP's are pretty good. I've found, and this is obvious, that the better you treat the girls, the better it is. I think they're pretty used to good treatment, btw, on the westside.

I always go clean shaven and showered, and well dressed. Some of the chicks are nice girls. If you treat them right, they'll give you their numbers and tell you when they're working. If you can find a broad named Coffee at an MP, you're doing well. Very nice girl. Loves doggy style. Pretty good GFE, too.

On another note, and I said this in another post, but I went to a place in Culver City. Sucks royally. It's called Oriental Therapy on Sepulveda. Lame.
