Sigh, the doubters.

Look, there are any number of reasons why a police agency may choose to go after providers. Maybe some division or special unit in LAPD needs more arrests. Maybe a supervisor of one of those sections is a hard core religious guy and believes he is doing good by making these arrest. Who knows for sure except those on the inside? But to just say..."no, that stuff doesn't happen" or to believe that the media must know about it....those arguments ignore the freedom and independence under which LE work.

Although I do have to say that considering Brattons views on getting officers out on patrol, I am guessing he would not be happy to catch wind of these sting operations that do nothing to reduce street crime.

Look, I do not know 100% for sure that LAPD is going after CL posters. What I do know 100% for sure is that #1 Long Beach PD have set up sting operations at hotels. They place ads in papers and sit around a hotel room waiting for mongers to show up. #2 LAPD Organized Vice and Crime Unit has called providers of E-R-O-S and T-E-R and arrested them for solicitation or has issued them a citation for operating as an escort without a permit(yes there is an LAPD permit for escorting).

A Web site that helps men the world over hook up with streetwalkers has outraged women's groups and become a tool for police interested in tracking down johns.

``This site is problematic, degrading and inhumane,'' said Mary Quinn, director of The Women's Center in Boston.

``(Prostitution) is one way women interact with men when their childhood has been interrupted by child sex abuse.''

The Web site World Sex Guide Forum (wsgforum.com) is a cyber den for men who get thrills from trolling side roads and back alleys for prostitutes. Johns trade tips on the best places to find hookers, where to be on the lookout for police and when to go on the prowl.

Perverse Bay State paramours can find information on prostitutes in Boston, Cambridge, Lawrence, Lowell, Holyoke, Fitchburg, Haverhill, Springfield and Worcester.

When one of these self-described ``mongers'' finds a good spot to pick up women, or a place to spend 15 minutes with them, he logs on and posts a note to the other wired johns with all the sleazy details.

In a recent monger posting in the Fitchburg section, ``Auto'' thanks members for telling him where to find prostitutes:
``Thanks for the tips guys. I did end up scoring in Fitchburg yesterday at around 2:30 after only about 15 minutes on the prowl. I think her name was Shauna or something like that, and I found her on Elm St., by the school. Kind of a sketchy pickup as school was just letting out and there were lots of people around.''

Heavy users of the flesh-peddler-friendly forum have screen names such as ``Boston Monger,'' ``Guess Who'' and ``Senior Citizen.''

But Quinn has another name for them.
``I think they're disgusting,'' she said.

Her group helps about 600 poor or battered women a week through counseling, arranging for psychotherapy, shelter referrals and group counseling.

The Web site has no listed owner. The domain name is registered to a post office box in Longwood, Fla., an Orlando suburb. An 800 number provided to contact the Webmaster is disconected.

The Web site's frequently asked questions section says a mystery man known only as Atta started the site in 1999. A fan known as ``Jackson'' took over and remodeled the site in 1999. He did not respond to e-mail requests for comment.

Jackson writes on the site that while the original board was meant as a study in prostitution, his version promotes it.
``Our mission is simple: finding women. . . . If you feel offended by stuff like this, I don't care.''

Just as drivers flash headlights to warn others motorists about upcoming speed traps, mongers post newspaper clippings of recent police stings, give new users advice on how to spot a decoy - a police officer posing as a hooker - and when to avoid the hot spots.

But while the mongers trade tips on how to stay out of jail, the eyes of the law are watching their cyber-chats. Cops in Lawrence check the site to track prostitution along the crime-ridden stretch of Broadway between Essex and Park streets.

In Boston, police spokeswoman Beverly Ford said officers use the site as an investigative tool.
``We are aware of the site and monitor it fairly regularly,'' she said.

She would not go into detail about how police use the site, saying that could hamper future investigations.

She said police have no plans to shut the site down, and that the forum is not breaking any laws by letting men swap information about streetwalkers.

``Just talking about it doesn't make it illegal,'' Ford said.

I know , I know = technically E·S isn't part of LA . But this seemed like the logical place to start , since LAX also technically isn't in LA , but in E·S

Is El Segundo the way it was 'back in the day' i.e crawling with SWs of every size and flavor ??

As I see it, it is only logical that LE would use CL, EROS, or any other similar site to find mongers.

Guys, keep these facts in mind:

1. LE is lazy (just visit your local Whenchel's to find one), so it makes sense that they would rather pick the "low fruit" these boards provide than to actually have to patrol and find mongers/providers.

2. LE's "report card" so to speak is based on arrests and/or citations. What better way to increase this number than to mine these sites.

3. LE looks at the cost/benefit of internet related arrests versus actual street stings. I have witnessed an actual street sting setup and arrests (not personally thank goodness). Not only are decoys involved, but many officers to protect the decoys and arrest the monger if he decides to pursue a chase. That is an expensive undertaking in LE manhours and resources. The internet on the otherhand is an easy setup that can net just as many mongers.

Yes, El Segundo would be listed here in L.A. But when is the last time someone saw a SW in El Segundo?? Had to be at least 10 years ago. The action in the area is definitely not there.

To do that PZ, you would need arrest reports and court files. In there you would find printouts of the eros ad or the *** reviews.

So basically the factual information exists, but I have no actual way of obtaining or showing YOU that information.

It was alluded to on an LAPD show on the City of Los Angeles cable station. A cop was talking about a sting operation LAPD was conducting at Shakeys on Sunset near Kingsley. He said that the police monitor internet boards where "johns" exchange information on prostitutes.

The Long Beach hotel stings have been published in the Long Beach paper(forget what it is called).

I don't understand why you keep fighting this.

Why not use CL and other sources. A few weeks ago, there were posts on CL referring to a provider that got busted and was "forced" to cooperate, people were reportedly getting arrested when they showed up. While I have no other first hand knowledge, it's not hard to believe.

I do appreciate the great information in SOME of the posts, I do not contribute very often myself. The reason is simple. I have been mongering for many years, and it does seem that when an area gets mentioned a lot, it soon disappears. This has me concerned over the future of LBB now.

LE will probably never have the resources necessary to completely stop our hobby, but they can make it more dangerous and more difficult. If they know where we are spending our time, that is where they will attack.

Bottom line is to always be careful.

PZ - Do you really believe that LE, in all cities, would publish information about each and every bust? You must be new to this hobby. Yes, we know what an Urban Legand is, and for those of you who don't, try this site: snopes dot com.

There have been MANY busts using stings and other methods just in the past 12 months by cities from Tarzana to Dana Point and only about 10% get any media coverage. Busts happen almost daily as is evident on the OC Sherrif Department's website. They keep a daily tab of all booking to OC Jail. There have been reverse stings at MPs throughout the year and not a single mention in the papers.

And, this is not urban legend, LE uses every bit of information on these public forums that they can get. It's extremely naive for anyone to think that LE doen't care or use these sites to advance their knowledge about the Provider biz. When I first got wind of this some time ago, through the details revealed to me by a favorite provider after her arrest, I realized that it was reckless for me to post information about providers. This posting is akin to a High School jock bragging to his friends about how far he got with his date. Why grown me do it I really don't know. We know where the MPs are. We know where the SW and strip joints are. Do we need to name the girls and put them in further danger?

I realize this post will be flamed to shreads but it's the truth. When you post about "Jane" at an MP the cops will send an undercover. It's that simple. And don't expect them to understand that it's just two consenting adults. They are programed to bust anyone who violates any law. So, in closing, if you want your favorite provider busted and carted away, post her name on a public forum. It'll just cost her thousands of dollars in legal fees and disrupt her life. And you'll be out searching for another favorite so you can tell LE all about her MO and fees and phone number and address and technique and ...

On Friday, May 16, 2003, at approximately 1:00 p.m., an undercover vice officer entered the parlor posing as a customer seeking a massage. Instead, he was solicited to engage in a sex act with an employee; at this time, the vice unit "took over" the massage business and ran it for several hours.

As a result of the investigation three employees were arrested for prostitution-related charges and eleven clients were arrested for solicitation of prostitution.

This operation was in response to a rise in Massage Therapy locations that are a front for houses of prostitution in the San Fernando Valley.

In addition to the arrest $1,400.00 and items of evidence were recovered and booked.

These investigations are ongoing.

I'm usually pretty patient, but this forum is the pits lately. I understand if you are having problems in the background; However, it would be nice if you would provide the members with a little info: i.e., what the problem is, when it might be solved, what we can do to help out here.

9 out of 10 times I try to access the site I get a message "site is busy; Try back later".

I could better understand that message if there were more than a handfull of posts during the last two weeks. I can only assume the lurkers are effectively using up all the bandwidth, and the members can't get in to post.

Everyone is having the same problem with the servers on this forum. We are so used to Jackson keeping everything running smoothly that anything less now seems frustrating, but I know it takes a lot of effort to keep this forum running smoothly. I also feel the same way about the forum not running as smoothly as before, but it is still free so I won't complain.

It would be nice if a message explaining this issue/problems would be posted on the Home screen by Jackson to give us an idea of the status.

If bandwith or server limitation is an issue, I would have no problem offering a financial contribution to help Jackson out in a positive way.

First off I called the number, its now disconected or something!

Hey all,

Is there a motel sting going on simultaneously on Pigueroa between Slauson and Vernon, and on Prarie Ave. in Inglewood? This is what I observed today between 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.. Don't monger in Glendale! I used to live there, and the cops don't screw around. One time, they actually did a sting near one of the motels just to remind everyone that Glendale isn't the town for this activity. Got your PM, sorry for wasting your time, but even sorrier to hear that you choose to limit yourself in that manner. As for LA, stick to Sunset after about 3:00 a.m., and Century, as there are few WSW on PIGUEROA, and the ones on SB are usually LE decoys. And be very careful, because Bratton has stings going constantly using primarily ASW, LSW and WSW. Good luck, and don't get busted!

Yeah, Tanna said something to me once about being sick because she didn't have her insulin. It didn't mix with a prior conversation we had where she told me she eats tons of candy. Just wanted to pass along a possible scam working in the Downtown area. Saw a young, kinda chubby Hispanic girl late at night on Jesse and Imperial. Its weird this topic came up now. My first SW experience about a year ago was crap. However, I have been ripped off, i.e., not given the service I paid for. The last time this happened was a couple of years ago. I've been lurkin on this board for awhile now, and it's always been hard for me to believe some of the stuff said here. I always knew about a few shady MPs, but it was hard to believe that SWs actually were roamin around in broad daylight. So armed with some knowledge here I took a stroll of some of the "popular" streets.

A cop could just hang around that LB area or that revolving door on PIG and wait for a jon to pick them up. Is posting specific cross streets or what not a smart thing to do? Or maybe it doesn't even matter cuz all you have to do is drive down the street...not that hard to find

Also, is it true that a cop usually wont get into your car? Never heard of a bust where this happened? Doesn't seem like she'd be in too much danger if more cops are trailing her and she is armed, and an easy way to make busts.

Me? What kinda night did i have? well. I've discovered a great new source. Place of operation is from home. The area is in around Hacienda Heights off the 10 fwy.
