Mitchell Brothers O'Farrell Theater (on O'Farrell @ Polk Street). Most upscale club in town offering "extras". A Legendary stripjoint which was one of the first fully nude clubs in US. Sorry for the delay of this post as this happened on January 7.
This is my annual trip to San Francisco for MacWorld.

Sorry for the late report.

LA county is about 10 mil population while SF county is a lot less than 1 mil. Adding San Jose to SF gives similar comparison if you include Orange County to LA. SJ and OC are the 1st and 2nd top real estate major markets in the nation, in terms of median house price. I quote these figures as Chinese are representative of the Asian population and together with Korean girls, they made up the majority of providers. The wild card is the Filipinos, of which the population is probably higher than the Koreans. That's amazing considering that the Philippines is such a small country compared to the other Asian giants. And that I rarely saw or heard about them.
Obviously SF is a much more liberal city than LA. LA MP's cannot operate like GF. If you want to clean up SF, you have to clean up the groovy that are going on in China town, which is rather politically impossible with 20% Chinese in SF county. However, many cities in LA county, mainly in the Chinese valley (San Gabriel Valley), the percentage of Chinese reaches 50% and 40% is common. Indeed for those in China town, if you have money, you move to LA. Interestingly, the rules in these towns seem to follow that by UK, where one provider one house is tolerated. In LA, many houses operate like these and they are rather difficult to bust, tolerated or not.
The facilities in GF is top notch. LA is flat. All MP's are in spread out in strip malls or commercial complexes. Being converted to MP use, the plumbing is always bad. Shower in every room is rare and requires heavy investment. In SF, the buildings always have to have a good pump for the water to reach the top. Nowadays the residents only care about real estates and business, and how to maintain value. The hostess clubs have very strict city rules. Metal detector at front. Hostess must submit proper paper to security when they report duty. The cops just walk in whenever they want and beam their torch at dark corners. I know, I was there. But if you open a little private brothel in the cheap area by the freeway, the chance that your Asian neighbors stand up against you and complain is minimal.
For the elected officials, it's hard to say that the Chinese don't have political power. The Hispanic votes are significant but most business are Chinese owned. If they are clean, pro-business, and experienced, they are likely to have a chance even if they are 'white'. As for cops, being one is the last resort for Chinese. If business is OK, you don't find many Asian cops. They treat the occupation as the one gang versus all the other gangs. If the city have money, good cops will come. They don't mind at all if they are white, at least there's no white gangs to speak of.
The other day in Rosemead, I saw lots of banners across the road to thank the teachers in the city for the high score of their kids. I'm not surprised sooner or later those cities get top scores. Life in LA or OC is either too bad or too good. Either way the kids just don't score.

Report from first 24 hours in Union Square:

Finally checked out King's yesterday. I have visited GF and I must say that the quality of the girls at GF are better than King's. There were a couple of girls at King's that I wouldn't spend $5 on. However, to my surprise they did seem to have pretty good attitudes.
I managed to pick out a cute (I'd give here face a 9 and body a 7.5) little petite Korean girl (I got there just in time I guess because when I left there were no girls sitting there, I guess it was a very busy night). I was a little surprised when we got to the room that the room did not include a shower (I'm not much for community showers).
After waiting in line to shower (again, not my thing to wait while a bunch of other dudes are showering), we went back to the room and negotiated a Benjamin for FS (not a bad deal + 60 to the house for 1 hour :). I found The City much more safe and sane prior to Willie Brown than during. He cracked down hard on the trade for his Conference Of Mayors, and the SWs never recovered. More sparks are flying between San Francisco police and District Attorney Kamala Harris -- this time over the D.A.'s refusal to prosecute nine women the vice cops arrested on prostitution charges during raids at a couple of "theater" clubs a few weeks back.
"It just leaves me in amazement,'' says vice Capt. Tim Hettrich, who likened the D.A.'s inaction to "almost legalizing prostitution.''
The D.A.'s office sees it a bit differently -- calling the arrests "business as usual'' and saying that while the cops were all too eager to arrest the women, they all but ignored the club's owners and the alleged johns.
If it all sounds a bit political, that's because it is.
Sex clubs have long been a tricky proposition in liberal San Francisco politics. For years, the attitude -- especially under libertine former D.A. Terence Hallinan -- seemed to be, "Don't ask, don't tell,'' especially at clubs whose owners were involved in local politics.
Plus, there's always been the question of whether prostitutes are criminals or victims.
Then, when the new D.A. came into office, the vice squad -- under the supervision of Fajitagate hyper-investigator Joe Dutto -- decided the time had come to start a cleanup. He called the club prostitution "out of control.''
The first step was to send letters to a couple of dozen strip clubs warning that investigators would be checking on their business licenses and permits.
The cops' move apparently set off an alarm at the D.A.'s office. Because the next thing you know, everyone was having a sit-down at which the cops agreed to back off until Harris could come up with a game plan that included the police and the city attorney -- after ironing out such issues as "abuse of the dancers, police misconduct during arrests and selected enforcement,'' according to a D.A.'s statement.
And while the cops waited ... and waited ... the public complaints kept coming in. Eventually, they decided to move on their own.
A pair of stings followed, one at the Market Street Theater and the other at the New Century Theater on Larkin Street. In each case, three undercover officers said they were solicited for sex acts by female employees within minutes.
In all, nine women were arrested -- and so was the male general manager of the New Century, who was booked for allegedly keeping a house of ill repute.
The cops said they were slam-dunk cases, but Harris' office took one look at the arrests and tossed them all.
And the bad-mouthing began.
The D.A.'s office says that the cops acted out of hand and that rather than wasting time and money on raiding clubs, they should be on the streets fighting more serious crimes.
In fact, Harris' office said in its statement, "We have had no arrests of street-level pimps and johns.''
"That's an outright lie,'' countered Dutto, who says the cops arrest 50 to 70 johns every month. He also said juveniles picked up for prostitution are routinely interviewed in an attempt to get them to turn on their pimps.
As for the club raids, the cops say they were just doing their jobs.
"When we went out there, we found girls who were engaging in acts of prostitution in the (illegally enclosed) booths, and that's why we took action, '' Hettrich said.
This being San Francisco, there's always another card in the deck somewhere. In this case, it's the feeling in the D.A.'s office that the cops are trying to use busts as a way to embarrass Harris for her refusal to bring a death penalty case against the alleged killer of Officer Isaac Espinoza, a popular cop who was shot to death in the Bayview this past spring.
Hettrich called the "payback'' spin "absolutely B.S.''
Maybe, but it does underscore the still-testy feelings between the two camps down at the Hall of Justice.

The going rate for these places are about 160-200 depending on service. Lately I have found Lucky Spa to be a very nice place to visit especially with mamasan Connie at the helm. I've been a lon g time customer of her's and now that she is managing her own place it's just seem nature for me to have her pick out the ones for me. They have a very good lineup so enjoy the pickings.
Lee's have really dropped in quality and the wear and tear on the facilities are very apparent. GF is still amongst the better lineup in the city. All of these places range in the price given above.
I have not been to King's, which I've heard some good things about. So good luck if you do try. But I must say one thing. AMP up here in SF are way better than the ones anywhere else in the States. Never been to the ones in NY. But of the ones I've been to SF AMP are just so much relaxed in nature, great service and at an reasonable price for FS.

If you are asian and look like you know what you are doing, the standard rate is $150 for everything (massage house fee and tip) at places like Lee's and Golden Flower. I don't know if not being asian actually cost more anymore. I have heard that it may not. When you come in to any of the places and they ask you if it's your first time, just say no. Make up one of the names of ladies you have heard of before if they ask and try to get a seat to make your own selection.

I went to Golden Flower on 2nd with high hopes from the comments that I have read here. I arrived at 11am Sunday. The place was quiet. After walking in the door Mamasan assigned me to Nanshee. Why'd you go to GF at 11am in the morning?, on SUNDAY?! Man, if you went about 11 to 12 hours before, you'd have a crazy lineup.
If you're asian, you shouldn't have paid that much. Just bullshit to them you only have $150-$170 and you want it all. Say that's how much you paid last time. If she says "no", ask the mamasan for another girl. They have to compete with other girls to get their money, so you'll probably win the negotiations. The good thing about SF is that all of the AMPs are in close proximity to each other. There are many that are within walking distance if you are staying at a hotel near union square.
The good thing about LA is that the prices are normally a little cheaper and there are also Latinas.
In terms of quality, it is all in the eye of the beholder of course.

But I recently went back to Kings on Jessie Alley btw 4th and 5th streets behind the S.F. Centre; and they have the best service;

Just going down memory lane as I read the posts here.

I was just in SF for a few days and hit up a bunch of places. GF is still tops for eye candy, but the worst service. No other place can top their lineup of young hot Koreans, but the service is just not there. Kings has great service, some nice ladies, but not as good looking. There's a new place, Lucky Spa, on Mission between 5th/6th, which has a pretty good lineup and decent service. The advantage of GF is it's open until 3am, all the other places close earlier. Nelson0 - You don't want the Sauna house under any circumstances. It is probably the worst full-service spa in the entire city.

Welcome, you'll love it here! I have to say, visiting a lot of cities in the US, and others outside the US (including Sydney), I have to say San Fran is by far one of my favorites (so is Sydney). Don't bother with MSC, unless if you want to look only. The girls aren't great, and the service is no good, and it's very pricey. Well, I was in the SF area (San Mateo) for business, and planning to try to check out GF or Kings, but work took too much time and all I had left was Sunday night late. So I drove north on the 101, but diverted to 3rd St.

I was passing through San Francisco last week on myway home to LA. Since this was the first time I was alone I wanted to see the various establishments I have read about on this board.

I haven't been to the Bay Area in a while. But, for a period of several years, I pretty much tried it all. Here's my $.02 worth:
1. Browse through several boards and you'll find a consistent story about incall, outcall, AMPs, etc. There's a local board called the Redbook (www.sfredbook.com) which is very good. Once I've picked out a couple of "candidates", I do a search in a couple of the sites by name and phone number to see if she has any reviews. Do a search here and you might get some hits.
2. I've skimmed through several pages here and it's loaded with good advice. I agree with just about everything I've read.
3. There are good AMPs and there are rip-offs. I've been to a few that have been described here. In DC, a "complete" AMP experience will run you 1.6. In SF, you will have to pay more. I'm not sure what the going rate is today, but I suspect it's at least $$.
4. I've been to Mitchell Bros several times, mostly for the experience. Bear in mind that it's VERY expensive. Just the door fee used to be $25-30. They have become more liberal with extras in recent years, but you can quickly run up a $$$ + bill. For those bucks, I'd just as soon see an escort. I remember that they charged a lower entry fee during the afternoon. Once you've paid your fee, you can come & go for the rest of the day. You might make a brief visit when the fee is cheaper, let them stamp your hand, and then come back at night. Interestingly, most of the patrons seemed to be visiting Japanese businessmen.
I've been to a couple of the other strip clubs -- MSC and the one around the corner from Mitchell Brothers. Again, it's OK for the experience, but you quickly spend money for marginal return.
5. I've never been into the SW scene, but it's fun just to cruise. In SF, you can't be sure of their gender.
6. My ATF place was the Golden Gypsy in Berkeley, but they were busted a few years ago. I never had a bad experience there, and the total bill was usually quite a bit less than an escort.
7. The other areas in the Bay Area are also alive & well to various degrees, but you'll do just fine without a car in SF if you spend the time and do some research.

There are other places to check out including Palm Tree or Rainbow. Also, Nikki's is famous for service by slightly older ladies.
I never go to the stripclubs, they are too expensive for what you get. Although you can get a session with a porn star at the club cheaper than their normal outcall/incall rates.
There are supposed to be some Asian only places in the Sunset and Richmond districts. I've not been to them.
