An article popped up on my news feed reporting that the City of Lavonia will be installing special surveillance cameras that can read car tags at the Hampton Inn and the Holiday Inn Express (Owens Drive) to address thefts from vehicles. It pointed out that 5-7 break-ins a year have happened at both hotels since 2017.
Seems like a lot of energy and effort for that level of crime. This may be a trend to watch for those of us that visit friends at motels.
