And I was disappointed. I went to the following:
Beijing Spa on 710 W 16th St. The MMS turned out to also be the masseuse. She was older looking, and body type as just below average. Did not speak a lick of english. I was thinking of parking and just walking across, but I want to make sure I don't get stuck in Mexico.I got to the road that leads to the border crossing at about 8 pm on a Friday night and I had to wait in line for about 35 minutes to get to the parking lot. My advice is to get there closer to noon so you don't have to worry about the time. I had planned to stay overnight so it wasn't an issue for me.
There is no check on the way into Mexico once you park, but there is the usual border check on the way back into the US. I was able to cross using just my driver license. I'm getting a passport though just so I don't have problems in the future.

Getting back is usually pretty quick too depending on the season. Lot of snowbirds go over for lunch or whatever this time of year so it can take up to 1/2 hour to get back but not usually.
As far as getting lost in Mexico when you step across the border you are basically in the middle of everything. There are pharmacies, optometrists, and dentists all over the place. Several restaurants, couple of strip club / whorehouse combos, and several restaurants. Lots of street vendors too.
Very safe there. It ain't Tijuana.
