Please move this to the proper section if it doesn't warrant a new thread. Was going to put it in non-pro's, but Starting a new thread because the "app" dating seems different from dating sites. These seem to be "look at picture. Is she hot? Ok let's do it. " Maybe this is a fertile ground for possibilities?
Tried out tinder and have gotten mostly frustration and misses, I got one and we went out for wine. Nice girl, mom, kid, no hubby in the picture etc etc.

I just got a text from someone this morning telling me I shouldn't be texting with his wife as people get shot for that. Good thing that I had removed her from my Tinder a few days prior to meeting with her as now he would have no idea what I looked like.
I had no idea that she was married. I was tempted to respond and tell him to tell his wife to get off the hook up apps, but I figure it's best not to poke the bear.
So there is an app currently for iphone, not yet available for android for hookups. (see post title) You post an ad, its up for an hour then disappears completely. So its for people looking to hook up right then. I am waiting for android and hope it works out.

So I used 'Pure" for the last 4 days and was unable to connect with a single user on that app. The gist of this program is that it's an app that goes on your smartphone. You can post a photo of yourself and send out a request that is lasts for a period of one hour. The request consists of a photo you can upload (or not), which also notes to onlookers that you're a man looking for a woman in your area within a 30 mile radius.
You can also add a 'Headline' such as "Down-To-Fuck" or "I'm at so-and-so Pub. Come join me. " You cancel your request at any time. I sent out about a dozen requests per day with different requests just to see if anyone would respond. In all, I believe I sent out 53 request and never got a single response. YMMV. The app was free to download and there was no charge to use the service.
I was a little more excited about a service called 'Mixxxer. ' This program is not available for download on iPhones, Android or other smart phones because iTunes and the like won't allow a sex-hookup app on their sites. Such Victorian bullshit, really, but it is what it is. So what you do is use your web browser on your phone to connect to the Mixxxer website. After you register, you can pay a fee of $8/ month or a $20/3-month plan. It's also free to just browse around, but you can't message anyone, so you can't verify whether the site is a good thing or a dud.
I elected the cheaper plan because the Mixxxer program seemed to good to be true. Once you pay you create a profile and can add a bunch of photos. They have a security feature that blurs your photo if you want to remain completely anonymous. From there you can go to the 'Find Fun" section where there are thumbnail photos of women in your area. A little green dot is on the thumbnail (noting the gal is online) and their Username is also on the photo (there are a lot of nude shots posted by the women). When you select a photo it tells you whether the gal is within 10,20 or 30 miles, or more. You will also see a brief message, such as "Hi, want to have some fun?' and it also notes if they're 'Down To Fuck' along with certain stats they've elected to put up. If you like a gal you can place them in your Blackbook or send me a little 'Teaser' or a full-on message. There's also a folder that shows you which women have viewed your profile. This was the first issue that raised a concern. I went to lunch after I filled in my profile, and when I came back I have about dozen women who appeared to have checked out my profile. But as I clicked on their profiles, the information on their photo showed that many of these women hadn't logged in for several days, which means they couldn't have viewed my profile.
Both myself and a friend in Orange County decided to do a test and reach out to as many ladies as possible. We varied the text messages and reached out to as many women as possible to see what kind of results we could expect. I may have personally reached out to over a hundred fifty women over a ten day period. Neither my friend or I received a single response. My buddy's younger than me, attractive and very different in looks from me, so we offered a variety, but nothing came from it.
I get the feeling that this is app is like Adult Friend Finder online. It promises a lot and delivers nothing. A shame really, because the idea of hooking up with civilian ladies for one-night stands at no cost is a very attractive prospect. And maybe it's just not in the majority of women's needs to reach out in this manner for anonymous sex. Pity.
Hooked up with a girl from Plenty of Fish recently. Had been talking to her for a few months and finally got her to get very friendly at a drive in move theater. Aside from her that site has been very hit and miss. Mostly miss.

Tinder is complete crap, Plenty of Fish, they discourage hooking up and look at themselves as a serious dating site, I remember 10 years ago with chat rooms was so easy to find women to hook up with for nothing but some fun between the sheets you would think with everyone having smart phones there would be something legit out there.
The worst. Met about 3 chicks being on for 4-5 months. All 3 were a lot bigger then advertised. I mean obese and ugly!. Waist of time. All the hot one's want to be immature and tease and most have no intentions of meeting up and / or are spammers or not real profiles to begin with. And I am a hot guy and had no problem getting laid on the other sites mentioned in this thread and even got a couple relationships here and there out of them. This was like 4/5 years ago but yeah. Now it seems they all are lame and waist of time to me. Tinder has a lot of fake profiles mixed in with a couple occasional real girls, but from my experience far and few between. Also tinder gets a bad rap as a hookup ap so I think a lot of young females are just messing around on it and thinking its funny to mess around with guys and or are just silly / immature and can't be taken serious really. Because well. They have the free time being that they don't have to work 9 to 5's, you know!? They are their parents royalty and only doing school part time. Ahhh miss the free time with college life, not hating. LOL. The other ap's are better but not by much / really these days. In the 4 years women I've noticed have became a lot more reluctant to get off the ap and actually get out on a date or meet up or whatever you want to call it. Then again could be the times since everyone is busy these days but just seemed a lot easier 4/5 years ago and there was a lot less hesitation then there is now on those sites with women wanting to meet up. Takes a whole lot of time / energy & effort (time currently I don't have) only in turn to find pennies not even nickles if you ask me. Just my two cents.

Now he is a good looking guy, so he is able to get plenty without tender, but it's an added tool. It seems that doing 5 minutes of research once the girl says yes, you can filter out the fake ones or catfish just like any other online tool. It's not 100%, but the other thing he does as a safety is that he meets the girls in a place where there are other opportunities (bar or club) so that if the girl turns out fugly, there are a lot of other targets at the meetup place.

As far as hiding an app on my phone, she is too smart for that. She will find it. She caught me chatting up my secretary even though I thought I covered it up well.
Good news is that she is model hot (the only way she can keep me from cheating), and a 10/10 in bed. Thus, don't really feel the need for Tender. Well, that, and I am not as good looking as my colleague (and you apparently) are. I would not getting many "yeses".
Yes, it does seem like a lot of work to check out the girls before meeting them, but if you are getting that many hookups where you don't have time, then good! Wish I had the problem.

That is the way you have to treat it. Just like the bar down the street. You have to be prepared to just move on and not dwell on one girl just because you like her picture or she has swiped right on you. Just let it go, and hit up the next girl. That is the way I got laid when I was single. If I am in a bar, talk to a girl, and nothing happening, I move on to go on to the next one just like getting on the next bus.
That is the key according to him for tender. It's a great tool that I did not have when I was young.

I have only met two in person because I don't want to get too attached.
