I'm here bring you a live report from Rocky Point Mexico, or Puerto Penasco as its known here.
Left Phoenix at about 9 AM, got here around 12:30 with a few stops along the way. Room check in at the Sonoran Sun Resort isn't until 4 PM so I knew I would have to kill a few hours (gee however could I fill the time?). Dropped my bags off at the resort so they weren't sitting in my car then drove down to whatever that main title strip is over by the massage parlor and strip clubs. Update 2: Fuck! Not here a few hours and I already lost my debit card. I must have left it in the ATM machine at the bank when I stopped to pick up some pesos. Already called my bank. They said goto western union or open up a bank account in Mexico and then wire myself some money. He said the cops gets paid more by the businesses not to fuck with and look out for people and the business owners own the cops here. My other friends come here a few times a year for the last 10 years never had an issue. Dead bodies outside of town? I don't know. They find dead bodies in Phoenix and in the desert where I live all the time too.
Once you hit the border, you go thru one town and then there is a long stretch of road with almost nothing until you hit Peurto Penasco, about an hour drive. It was a much more pleasant drive than going from Los Angeles to Tijuana which is a nightmare They even have signs all along the road, in English, that says "Hassle Free Driving". Meaning the cops won't hassle you on this road.

Looks like Memo is among the missing again. Tried to get hold of him on FB before heading down to RP, and no response in over a week. Tried the phone number I had when I hit town. A recording in Spanish (not fluent enough to understand. Hey everyone. I have been reading the Phoenix stuff for a while but I am still relatively new to the game. I tried posting on the International sister site to this one, but got no responses. I'm hoping someone can point me to some good ways to really enjoy my trip.
Here's the deal. I'm heading there in December, from the 8th-12th alone. I got myself a room at Hotel Senorial because it's close to the strip clubs and lots of bars within walking distance. What I want to know is how to find someone, a guide, to help me find what I'm looking for that won't ask for too much in return. I read on the sister site about certain people down there that do that sort of thing. None of those posts were new and none mentioned more than a name. Any help would be appreciated.
