Some of our favorite pharmacies might be affected. Here's the link to my source, Reuters:

The USA Food and Drug Administration said it has cracked down on thousands of online pharmacies for selling potentially unsafe, unapproved or fake medicines, including the erectile dysfunction drug Viagra and antiviral Tamiflu.

The FDA, working with international regulatory and law enforcement agencies from about 100 countries, said on Thursday that it took action against more than 4, 100 Internet pharmacies, bringing civil and criminal charges, removing offending websites and seizing drugs worldwide.

The move was part of the fifth annual International Internet Week of Action, a global effort to fight the online sale and distribution of potentially counterfeit and illegal medicine.

Action taken between September 25 and October 2 resulted in the shutdown of more than 18, 000 illegal pharmacy websites and the seizure of 3. 7 million doses of counterfeit medicines worth an estimated $10. 5 million, the agency said.

Here's a shortened link to additional info re illicit online pharmacies from INTERPOL:

Operation Pangea V, which involved police, customs and national regulatory authorities is the largest Internet-based action of its kind, targeting the international black market of fake and illicit medicines, and raising public awareness of the significant health risks associated with buying medicines online.

Support by companies including Legitscript, Visa, Mastercard and PayPal resulted in more than 18, 000 websites linked to illicit online pharmacies being identified and shut down, the suspension of payment facilities of online rogue pharmacies, and the disruption of a massive number of spam emails and social networking messages.

This might explain the upsurge in credit card payment problems at online pharmacies:

"Visas Global Brand Protection Program (GBPP) is designed to prevent merchants from processing illegal or unethical credit card transactions, such as illegal prescription drug sales."

The other payment processors are under pressure to suspend payment facilities of illegal online pharmacies.

"UPS Friday agreed to forfeit $40 million and implement a compliance program after a Department of Justice probe found the company delivered drugs on behalf of illegal online pharmacies.

The agreement followed an investigation that showed that UPS was shipping drugs on behalf of Internet pharmacies that were distributing controlled substances and prescription drugs that were not supported by a valid prescription."

FedEx is currently under investigation.

The noose is tightening: First the credit card payments, now the delivery services.

"The National Association of Boards of Pharmacies (NABP) applied for a. PHARMACY generic top-level domain (gTLD) last June, and the domain recently passed the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers' (ICANN) initial evaluation. Reaching this key point is a significant accomplishment in the effort to create a secure and trustworthy online space for pharmacies and consumers around the world.

Once a registry agreement is passed with ICANN and technical testing is complete, NABP will make the .PHARMACY domain available only to legitimate online pharmacies in the United States and other countries. NABP's goal is that, by the end of 2013, all pharmacy sites that are approved to use the .PHARMACY designation will be able to operate in a safe and secure manner."

http://news. health. com/2014/05/26/illegal-online-meds-targeted-in-worldwide-crackdown-fda-says/

"Illegal online pharmacies that sell unapproved and potentially dangerous prescription drugs to Americans were targeted this week in a worldwide operation, .

More than 19,600 packages containing medicines supposedly from Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Great Britain were seized in the action, which involved authorities from 111 countries, the FDA said in a news release.

The packages actually contained unapproved or suspected fake drugs from countries such as China, India, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, Singapore and Taiwan, as well as Australia, New Zealand and Great Britain, the agency reported.

In the United States, officials inspected shipments at international mail facilities in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York City and seized or detained 583 packages. Many of the packages contained illegal prescription medicines that had been ordered online. ".

"As part of the operation, the FDA also notified Internet service providers, domain name registrars and related organizations that 1,975 websites were selling products in violation of USA law. ".

I cannot find other mentions of the FDA's action, but I assume the story is accurate.

http://www.interpol.int/News-and-media/News/2014/N2014-089

"Operation Pangea VII was coordinated by INTERPOL, with the World Customs Organization (WCO), the Permanent Forum of International Pharmaceutical Crime (PFIPC), the Heads of Medicines Agencies Working Group of Enforcement Officers (WGEO), the Pharmaceutical Security Institute (PSI) and Europol, with support from the Center for Safe Internet Pharmacies (CSIP) and private sector companies including G2 Web Services, LegitScript, MasterCard, Microsoft, PayPal and Visa.

As well as raids at addresses linked to the illicit pharmaceutical websites, some 543,000 packages were inspected by customs and regulatory authorities, of which nearly 20,000 were seized during the international week of action (13 20 May)".

This should go over about as well as the 'war' on narcotics. Unlimited supply meets unlimited demand. Good luck stopping that.

Anyone know what happened to supersavermeds.com? I think a couple of months ago the site was still up and working. Strangely, the login page still works (http://pharmacy.supersavermeds.com/cart/ssm_login.php) and I can still log in and view my order history. But everything else just hangs and their customer contact email bounces back. They had been very reliable in my experience. I understand there's been cracked downs. Did they close, changed site?

I think it was a few months back, I got a call at home from some Indian guy asking whether I had ordered from them before. Paniked, I asked who the heck it was. After a few back and forth, he cursed in Hindi and hung up. I think that might be them, but not sure.

I was able to reach the login page, but nothing beyond that.

The last time their home page was archived was January 4, 2014 (a year ago).

Given the info I found, I would not do business with them.

What do you need? Why not buy from the better reviewed sites?

Good luck,

Anyone have any experience with any of these online pharmacies?

I have a Rx for Levitra that went down in price this year, 6 pills (20's) for $15 per month from $35 in 2017.

Blue Shield is balking at giving me Cialis, which a couple of years ago I got 30 x5 mg for $35, which I would still prefer, and at todays prices should also be $15.

But at a per pill price I'd go for the 20's.

Are these drug prices dependent on your insurance carrier (co-pays) or can anyone with a prescription buy at these prices? What pharmacies are offering these prices?I have Blue Shield Silver and get Rx at Costco. For some reason Blue Shield wanted to steer me to Levitra even though the prices are the same.

I like the Cialis 20's and the 5's, the 20's because they last me for 2 days and the 30 x 5 mg because its a better value.

But I may look into this also for the Cialis, and keep getting the Levitra at the 6 for $15 price.

"To target the infrastructure supporting the illegal online sales of drugs, a series of recent OCI cybercrime investigations focused on credit card processors involved in an arrangement known as transaction laundering or factoring. Under this scheme, the business operations process payments for illegal online drug networks through shell companies such as clothing stores or florists that are seemingly not related to online pharmacies. The FDA's investigation of these payment schemes led to a federal indictment charging a complex conspiracy related to transaction laundering for online pharmacies. ".

The above schemes are used to process online drug purchases from unlicensed "pharmacies. ".

Any place that is reliable that still accepts credit cards.Recently ran out of the blue pill. At least two years ago I'd say I bought 100 of them from online. Tried a few sites recently with my credit card declined likely because the transaction makes my credit card company wonder. Thought I would work around this by getting a MasterCard at local grocery and putting money on it doing it that way. This however also got declined and when I called the card company to ask why they said it could only be transactions in the United States. For those of you that don't get meds from your doctor how are you getting it nowadays and how are you paying for it? Thanks.

Wondering if anyone has used the HIMS online service to get your pills from? They say doctors to do your "exam" and the other stuff needed.

Trust reviews here, that online is why I'm asking. You can PM if needed.

I started the online profile for Roman. Then looked at their prices and decided to do some further research. I looked at Good RX. And then called a few local Pharmacies. And asked what the price is for a 90 day supply 5 mg Tadalafil the answer was $40.

I called customer support at Romans. And found that I do NOT have to buy thru them. There is an option to pick a different pharmacy. I chose one that had low prices. And also open that My SO would never have a prescription filled. I had a script from my primary Dr. But the SO and I share the same Dr. So I let that expire and and had it scratched before the SO accidentally found out.

I'll finish the online deal with Roman, and see what happens. FYI. The customer service girl told me that they had a deal going on. And the online assessment was free. And no membership charges. Almost TGTBT. But we'll see.

She sent in the script. And 3 months of generic Cialis for $40. No coupons needed or used. And no insurance. Confirmed that there will be no charges.

Make the phone calls. And find out the cash / non insurance prices are.
