Idaho is usually a dead town, and to answer the question about Northern Idaho, yes, go to Spokane if you want any hope, but having said that I was in Sandpoint recently during their clasical music festival a few weeks ago and met this young lady who was traveling on the cheap and needed to raise some funds, get a place to stay, and eat some food.
