Hey all. I thought I'd start a new thread about two types of places that have both been goldmines in other locations I've lived in. Most notably tanning salons and psychic reader businesses. I'm going to start heading out to one of these each and every week just to see what new avenues I can dig up. Although there is a ridiculous amount of available trim in Baltimore for not a lot of dough it's the thrill of the hunt that I like as well as new situations. If there's any place that my fellow mongers recommend checking out list it here with your review!

I am certainly down with giving those types of places a shot.

I have learned in the past (in the days before internet made it easy) that if I was visiting a new town, and looked up "Nightclubs" in the yellow pages, I it was rarely obvious which ones were strip clubs. However if I also looked up "Psychics" it was a fairly reliable that the "nightclubs" in the same neighborhoods as "Psychics" were likely the strip clubs. This was even more likely to be true if both categories had an unusually large cluster of establishments in the same area.
I generally attributed this to jurisdiction boundaries, and attempts to zone "immoral" behavior out of sight if not out of existence.
However it never occurred to me that there might be more to it. Let us know how it goes.
I am also on the ground floor and running with this idea. Nice idea.

I had a similar thought about a year ago in DC, given the usual proximity of the psychics in DC to the AMPs (when they were around) and the strip clubs on M Street. I checked out Christine's place near Dupont, on Connecticut. Unfortunately, I don't think there were any extras to be had, and I ended up sitting through a bullshit palm-reading session. I had trouble keeping a straight face. Nothing ventured, nothing gained though. Maybe the places in Baltimore are different.

I like this whole idea. I never knew that anything was to be had. I understand some gypsies were in the business of the flesh. But I just kinda figured any legit storefront wouldn't be the same deal. Ill keep my eyes and ears on. Some of those women are hot. Ill deall with a palm reading if she throats me and I shake her head to see what the answer to my yes or no question is.

Been watching a small strip shopping area just west of Finksburg off 140, have been waiting for a massage parlor to open there based on the other stores. There's a tatoo parlor next to an adult movie store, next to "Tropic FX Tanning". Doesn't look like the upscale tanning salon frequented by snow birds and college students so who knows, they may be into some upselling. Pass along any stories.

Ok, most of the tanning salons I know of are owned and operated by guys, not ladies. Guys with the sole intent of possibly scoring with a hot client.
So unless you mean getting lucky by meeting a chick who tans there who will then hook up with you later, it is unlikely you will score in a tanning salon with someone who works there or tans there.
As far as the pschic readers I haven't seen one that wasn't old or fugly.
Good luck with your 'project', I will take the lack of posted activity as a sign that my impressions of these areas are SPOT ON.

But that was when it was still owned and operated by proper villains and not the corporate restaurant and bar people running it now. At least the bartender the night I was there last week knew how to make a drink strong enough to get me to go back. That's a nice change in Fells.

I am not sure there are too many I have info that a few girls cruz one or two of the hotel bars. Duh. Of course.

I think that this topic is deadened in baltimore. The fortune teller that worked the block for years only wanted to pick your pocket. There was a couple on craiglist that wanted to meet a "man" at an adult store. From reports on the news I would see my priest at the adult store before and significant action. The tanning spas some incredible women at the cranbrook location. In fact one day I am just going to offer the counter girl a blank check. Maybe if the state restricts the age they might resort to extra's

Yes I am suggesting, and actually you would have a better chance there.I was just there on a weeknight and I saw a few girls I thought might be working. Looked like healthy late 20's early 30's white girls known by the staff. If not for this thread I would have missed it.

I live in fells and I thought I saw this too Friday night.
But wrote it off as being buzzed pretty heavily. Older black guy was introducing some women around. One of them was def. For sale.

What did you all see?Well when I originally reported this I went there with a friend just to check out the band that was setting up in the window. We walk in sit down at the bar. Three girls (two wild dark hair the third heavy) sat right next to us at the bar and the place has plenty of other chairs. So they are looking over there shoulder at us I pick up on it and friend did also...but I know that he is not in the action. Then at the other end of the bar was a wild one who was "kind" of with a guy. She was looking at us as well. She had that kind of doing time at the bar look that the girls on the block have. A pro. It is definitely a different feel to the place that was not particularly social like other establishments. Perhaps this happens only on certain night there. Since they have bands perform who draw a crowd. I am glad that other have picked up on this, you just know from ... looking so long

Anybody try the new place next to yogoya frozen yogurt on york road. They offer thing that I have never heard of like treading, oil, massage. Every time I go in to yogurt place I see some one I know. Which makes it hard to get in to this joint
Did a recon last night but was put off by a big crowd hanging out in front of the yogurt place. With the big floor to ceiling windows in front, next to a bustling family ice cream / yogurt place it's about the most conspicuous massage parlor I'm ever seen. Don't think I'll try it until I see it in craigslist / BP. The only good point, there was a back door next to a back parking lot up a short wooden stair that gave a bit more privacy. There are a couple of other places that haven't been reported on I think I'll try first.

So, I've heard of stuff going down in all sorts of places, but Psychic Readers? Do you guys really manage to get something going on at a reader's place? This is a new one for me.
Also, I haven't had any luck at the adult stores I've been to in this area. I'll RTFF on this one, but if there's anything we should refresh the reports on them!

Anyone have any recommendations for someone who can wax or trim the lower region? Preference to someone who doesn't work in salon.
