A lot of us now have smartphones with good Internet access. If you have a laptop the USB cellular plug in cellular devices work well. A lot of them are prepaid.
If you have a tablet, consider a cellular hotspot, such as a Mi-Fi or similar.
Some of these are available prepaid as well.
Only one I tried that I didn't like was Cricket, even at best I never got the promised 3G speeds.
Just some thoughts on the matter!
